Heart Week – Day 3

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 3 of Heart Week!

Today I’m using products kindly sent to me by Penny Black. I chose the main image from the fabulous Crafting stamp set (30- 947) as my focal point. This is quite a large image and although it would sit comfortably on a standard sized card, I wanted to have a little more open space around the image so I opted for a larger slimline card design. I coloured the image using my Twinkling H2Os and inked the backgrounds with Old Paper and Tumbled Glass distress inks. To top and tail my card, I used dies from the Hugs Edgers set (51-761) and the Heart Balloons set (51-493) plus sentiments from the Without Limits mini stamp set (30-949).

Heart Week – Day 2

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 2 of Heart Week!

My heart card today is my entry for the colour challenge at Just us Girls.

My focal point today is a bouquet of Simply Graphic dies, partly coloured using distress oxide ink. I also added an ink blended heart to the top of a Simply Graphic stem to fill out the centre of my bouquet.

I used the largest die from the Poppystamps Pinpoint Hearts die set for the background and a stamped sentiment from a Mama Elephant set.

Heart Week – Day 1

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 1 of Heart Week!

My heart card today is my entry for this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I chose Memory Box’s Banded Heart Locket die as my focal point. I don’t remember much about this die – which is really unusual for me – maybe I won it in a challenge… I don’t think I’ve ever used it before!

I cut it from some gold glitter paper and adhered some vellum behind it. I added a few hearts cut from a very old Simon Says Stamp/Kelly Purkey die set and a bow from the Memory Box Crisp Bows set for a subtle spot of colour.

The sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted set.

Floral Bouquet Heart

Hi there!

I hereby declare this week Heart Week! I have so many neglected heart dies and stamps that I want to use so I’m going to try to create a card with a heart or two every day this week… we’ll see how that goes!

In the meantime, first up is my entry for the Color Throwdown challenge which has a fun palette of green, blue and kraft.

I used the beautiful Memory Box Floral Heart Bouquet die which I coloured with alcohol makers and coloured pencils. I added some foam tape to the top centre of the heart so that it has a little bit of dimension.

I added heart trim to the card base using a Sugar Pea Designs border die and a sentiment from a Spellbinders set.

To complete my card I added a few pearls.

Snowdrops for you

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge using products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

Do you have a stamp you reach for year after year? I have a few, especially this beautiful Wintry Whites stamp (30-634) which I reach for when I see the snowdrops appearing in my garden. You can see the other cards I’ve made with it in previous years: 2021, 2022 and 2023.

For today’s card, I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the snowdrop image, cutting off the vase outline to leave just the stems. I then used the largest die from the Heart Balloons die set (51-493) to cut white cardstock that I spritzed with Wonderland Distress Mica Stain and lightly sponged with Frayed Burlap distress ink.

I cut the fabulous YOU die (51-760) from some speciality paper and adhered it to a panel on my cardbase. I stamped part of a sentiment from the Fragrant Friends stamp set (30-807) and arranged the die cut elements. Finally I added the tiny bow from the Little Ornaments die set (51-090), butterflies from the Flourish and Butterflies die set (51-198) and a few gems.

Sparkly Snowfall

Hi again everyone!

Next up today is the card I made for the Memory Box Snowfall challenge.

I started by creating a blended panel using regular distress inks. I then cut the beautiful Silent Snowflake Frame die from glitter card and adhered to my card base. I cut the Alpine Snowflake from holographic card and adhered to the centre of the card.

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from an older set by The Ton Stamps and  a few gems.
