I Heart Summer!

Hi Everyone!

The theme for this month’s Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday is ‘Summer’ and so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to use my Sunny Studios layered popsicles. I find their layering stamps super easy to line up – and the popsicles are no exception!

Once I stamped the images several times using Altenew inks, I felt I needed ‘something’ to anchor the collection. I did a little controlled ink smooshing and then added a border die from Poppystamps – I think it almost looks like some sort of quirky popsicle holder! I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp to complete the card

Thanks for looking!

Thanks with a splash

Hi everyone!

I’m loving the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – black and white with a splash of colour. Here’s another entry using the Painted Thanks die from Simon Says Stamp plus the gorgeous Grands Cercles embossing folder from Studio Carabelle! I added a couple of Doodlebug enamel dots for the splash of colour.

The ‘thanks’ is cut from black glitter paper (but you can’t really see it from these pictures unfortunately!) and layered on a couple of black die cuts for added depth.

Blooming Lotus

I loved the sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, but it took me quite a while to decide on my card. Then I remembered the gorgeous Memory Box Blooming Lotus outline die! I bought it online a few years ago, but never used it because it was so much bigger than I had expected! I thought it would be perfect as the focal point for my entry.

I used distress inks to create a background which I then cut and inlaid into an outline cut from glitter paper. It’s so sparkly in real life!

You are so incredibly awesome!

Hi everyone!

I am loving how nicely the distress oxide inks stamp and for today’s card I’ve used them with the gorgeous Flower Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th.

I embossed a sentiment from Paper Source and added a couple of vellum flourishes to finish it off.

I’m entering this card in the current Flower Challenge – heat/dry embossing and the challenge hosted by Where Creativity Meets C9 – embossing.

What part of Meow don’t you get?

Hi everyone!

I spent today sorting out all my old wood-mounted rubber stamps! I had such fun rediscovering them! I actually used one of them on today’s card – the sentiment is an older stamp from The Cat’s Pajamas! I have a feeling you’ll be seeing more of my older stamps over the next few weeks!

Anyway, I coloured a Tim Holtz Crazy Cat using my Twinkling H2Os and used my favourite stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop to anchor the image.

I’m entering this card in the Timeout Challenge (CASE with your own twist) and the Color Throwdown challenge (dark pink, pale pink, green and white).

Make a Wish

Happy Friyay everyone!

The theme for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is ‘Distress it’ and instead of pulling out my distress inks, I pulled out my sanding blocks. Seriously can’t remember when I last used them.

For my card, I used some old Core’dinations cardstock and a very old Cuttlebug embossing folder. I sanded down the embossed image to reveal the kraft core.

I added a sentiment die cut from Penny Black and also distressed the edges of the card. To finish it off, I was going to add some Stickles but decided to use some cork dots that I had. They look a little heavy in the photo, I think they look better in real life!

I’m also entering this into the current Casology challenge – ‘Wish’.
