Grateful

Hi everyone

Last night I went to the Tower of London’s sound and light installation marking the 100 year anniversary of the end of World Ward I. Very moving. I loved the poppies in 2014 and this year’s installation is equally special.

I was inspired to create a poppy card using an older Penny Black wood-mounted stamp and the sketch from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. to finish off the card, I added a simple sentiment by Concord & 9th.

Day 7 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 7 was Birch Press Designs. I absolutely love their dies, but sadly don’t have many as I’ve been unable to find a UK retailer.

I loved Jeanne Jachna’s stain glass effect tag and try to create the same effect using my Simon Says Stamp Corbel ornament die. I dry embossed the outline of the ornament on one tag and then coloured it in using my Altenew and Nuvo alcohol markers. Then I cut the ornament from a couple of tags and adhered them on top of the base layer. Finally I added Nuvo gloss to each element and a glittery Hero Arts die cut to finish off my tag.

Day 6 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 6 was a new-to-me brand, Paper Sweeties – it certainly looks like they have some cute stuff, I may have to place an order soon!

I was inspired by the tags made by Lisa Bzibziak – the non-traditional colour combos were wonderful and when I saw the pile of cups, I thought of my Newton’s Nook Cup of Cocoa stamp set which I bought last year, but still hadn’t got round to using!

I coloured the cups using my Twinkling H2O paints and then fussy cut them. I added a Poppystamps sentiment die cut to the base of the tag and then adhered all the cups!

Day 5 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 5 was Newton’s Nook. I love Newton so I had a lot of choice when it came to choosing supplies for this tag! I loved the inspiration tags and decided to use one created by Tracey McNeely herself for my inspiration.

Anyway, I coloured Santa Paws Newton and the chimney with my Prismacolor pencils and embossed a few snowflakes before applying a light coat of Tumbled Glass distress ink. I also added a healthy amount of Nuvo Aqua Shimmer to Newton, the tag is so shimmery in real life!!

Day 4 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 4 was Reverse Confetti. I don’t have any Christmas sets by Reverse Confetti but, having seen how the designers used a circles set, I decided that their  You are a Star set would work very well.

Lindsey M-p‘s tag provided my inspiration. Whilst she used the reverse of a stamp to create her background, but I couldn’t do that with the star set as the large images weren’t cut very close to the star shape. Instead, I used a smaller solid star stamp from the set and did some second generation stamping in green and red, like Lindsey. I embossed the large star in gold tinsel embossing powder – it’s so sparkly in real life!

Day 3 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 3 was Concord & 9th. I love C9 – such an innovative and generous company! I was surprised that I only had one Christmas set by them – an older set – the Christmas Cottage set.

There’s an amazing selection of tags but I was particularly inspired by a tag by one of my favourite cardmakers – Jessica Frost-Ballas. I actually ended up making two very similar tags with the same supplies…. I think I prefer the first one I created with lots of trees… which one do you like?

Thanks for stopping by!
