AAA Cards Hugs, Kisses and Fairy Wishes!

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using our sketch. Our optional twist this time is ‘it flies’. Stamplorations is our sponsor.

What do you think of the optional twist? There are so many possibilities aren’t there? Butterflies, birds, planes, hot air balloons, the list is pretty long!

I was originally going to use a plane for my take but as I was looking for a particular sentiment I came across on old Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit which had the theme of fairies! I reckon I’ve had it 2 – 3 years and sadly, I’ve barely used it! Anyway, I thought that a fairy would be perfect for an alternative take on the twist.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Coni, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Pink and purple Easter

Hi Everyone!

I’ve taken a little break from challenged but when I saw the colour combo for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge and the sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge I suddenly decided to play along at the last minute!

Lots of stencilling today – I created the egg using an Echo Park Paper Company stencil and a Memory Box egg die. Then, I used some embellishment mousse with a Colorbox stencil to create the textured background. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Thank for stopping by!

AAA Cards Made in Minutes with a stencil

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card in ‘minutes’. Our optional twist this time is ‘use a stencil’. Funky Fossil is our sponsor.

Some of you may remember that this is my least favourite challenge theme – for me crafting is relaxing, not something I want to rush through. Mind you, I have to confess that this time, I did actually make the card in minutes!

I cut a piece of acetate with a Memory Box egg die to act as my base stencil/mask and sponged on some Scattered Straw distress oxide ink. Then, without move the mask, I added my favourite Funky Fossil stencil (‘Shrubbery’) and blended some Tattered Rose/Spun Sugar distress oxide ink to create my patterned egg.

To complete my card, I added a Poppystamps sentiment and a few dots of gold Stickles.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Sandie, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

AAA Cards Along the edge challenge with furry twist

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using just one edge of your card. Our optional twist this time is ‘dogs and cats’. Craftyscrappers is our sponsor.

This was an interesting twist for me! Most of my loved ones are cat lovers so I have lots of feline stamps and dies, but very few dogs. I do, however have a cat/dog die set from Simply Graphic. I’ve used the cat die a lot but never used the cute dog. Well now is his time to shine….sort of! Cats still outnumber dogs here!

As my crafty time is short at the moment, I decided to adhere coloured cardstock behind each die cut rather than do inlaid die cutting. I was originally going to just do a couple of colours, but I ended up channelling Laura Fadora and using rainbow colours!

The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Megan, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Blue birthday butterfly

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with a couple of challenges – the Color Throwdown challenge (pink, orange and blue) and the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!

I die cut three strips from some orange/pink patterned paper by Basic Grey and adhered them to my card base.  Then I used the gorgeous Drifting Butterfly die from Memory Box to cut the butterfly from some more Basic Grey paper and added it onto my die-cut strips. Finally I added a few gems and Mama Elephant sentiment to complete my take!

Thank for stopping by!
