Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to my lovely mum!

Here’s the card I made her as she loves cats!! I’ve had this idea in my head since I made a box card at Simon Says Create last year! Bought the Lawn Fawn box die there – can’t believe that I haven’t got round to using it until now!

Anyway, I wish I could say that I used all my cat stamps when making this card, but I can’t! I seem to have amassed a fair collection over the years! The cat stamps here are from a Lawn Fawn set, a brand new My Favorite Things set that I only got yesterday and then my old favourite kitty stamp from MFT, pride of place in the front! The sentiment stamp is from Avery Elle.

I also decorated the two side flaps! So much fun!

I’m going to enter this into the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge (fun with dies). I have used products from a couple of other manufacturers, but Lawn Fawn dies/stamps feature prominently, so hopefully this is OK for the challenge!

Koala hugs

Hi everyone!

I received a rather nice order from Simon Says Stamp yesterday – always fun when they land on my doormat! One of the dies I ordered was this gorgeous Picture Book Koala die! Now, I already have a lot of koala stamps and dies, but, I just couldn’t resist adding this one to my collection!

I created some blended backgrounds with Distress Oxide inks and used these to create the koalas. I cut an oval from a panel of white cardstock and then embossed it with a Couture Creations folder. I blended more Distress Oxide onto the base of my card before adhering the koalas. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp/Sugar Pea Stamptember collaboration.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is ‘Cut it Out’!!

Window on Love

Happy Saturday people!

Today is a great day as I was finally able to play with the wonderful Hero Arts Window on Love confetti die! I have wanted this for soooooo long and snapped it up when Seven Hills Crafts got it in this week!

I decided to use it to play along with the current Twofer challenge (hearts).

For the first card, I channelled my inner Laura Fadora and used the wonderful ‘Press ‘n Seal’ technique that she demonstrated a few weeks ago. Thanks for the inspiration Laura, I LOVE this technique. It did take AGES to apply foam to the back of the confetti pieces, but it was totally worth it! Once I had stuck all the little die cut images to the base card, I embossed a sentiment (from an older Hero Arts set) on vellum and stuck it onto the card.

For my second card, I used just a few of the die cut hearts to create a little strip on my CAS card. The sentiment is also from an older Hero Arts stamp set.

Gilded Flower

Hello everyone!

I bought a couple of new Woodware stamps at the start of the year and have been wanting to use this beautiful big bloom for a while. It’s a large image and I thought it would be perfect to use with this week’s sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This was very quick to make – less than 15 minutes! I stamped the image and embossed it with Ranger sticky embossing powder. I then added some Cosmic Shimmer Autumn Leaves gilding flakes. I die cut the image and stuck it on top of the two strips of glitter paper that I had stuck to the card base.

Very easy, but effective! Love the shimmer so much!

Best in the whole Mewniverse

Hi everyone!

Happy Saturday!

I finally had the chance to play with the fabulous kitty stamp set that I got with my first order from Heffy Doodle stamps. Isn’t it cute – I just love that sentiment!

Lots of masking needed for this card – I’m hoping that the coordinating die will be available to purchase in the next release!

Happy Heart Day 2018

Hello and ‘Happy Heart Day’ people! I love that phrase, but haven’t found it on many stamps at all, sadly. The one on today’s card is from an older Stampendous set that I’ve had for many years. Probably a decade!!

I’m playing along with the current Penny Black and More challenge (Love, Hearts and/or flowers), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (add a die cut) and the Work Your Stash Wednesday challenge over on Instagram – the theme is red and pink. Perfect for a heart card!

In addition to my lovely sentiment stamp, I used dies from Penny Black – I bought the heart dies just after Valentine’s Day last year, can’t believe I am only getting round to using them now!
