Catalina Wreath

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the colour challenge at the Just Us Girls challenge. The colour palette is ivory, soft rose and sage green – totally the colours I love to work with!

I decided to use an older Memory Box die, the beautiful Catalina Wreath, which is from 2011! It actually belongs to my mum but has lived in my collection for a while as she has taken a break from cardmaking. I coloured it with distress oxide inks and added a few white Nuvo drops. I stencilled some Nuvo glitter paste onto a piece of ivory card and then adhered the wreath and added a Creative Expressions sentiment to complete my take.

Older Simons die cuts

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the sketch challenge hosted by Sunday Stamps.

For my take on the sketch, I started by cutting some patterned paper with a die from Paper Rose’s Track Circle frame set. I then cut two older Simon Says Stamp dies – the Adeline Butterfly and the Calliope Flourish and coloured them with distress inks.

I added a few Nuvo drops to the flower centres, a Sugar Pea Designs sentiment and a few sequins to complete my take.

Pressed daisy stems

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I’ve recently reorganised my dies and when I saw the sketch, I decided to create what I’d originally thought of as the background using an Avery Elle kraft frame die. I sponged some distress ink onto the base of the frame to reflect the sketch.

I smooshed green and purple distress ink onto the card base and coloured the Memory Box Daisy Stems die cuts with the same colours as the background dried. After adhering the diecuts and frame, I added a Memory Box sentiment to complete my card.

A vase for the best!

Hello everyone!

Yoday I’m playing along in the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches using Penny Black dies and stamps.

I started by blending some distress ink onto my card base and then cut two sections of white card using an edger die from the Border Collection (51-717) and adhered them to my card base. I cut the foliage using the Frosted Greens (51-710) and Garden Greens (51-652) die sets and coloured three of them with distress ink.

I used a stamp from the Perfectly Potted (30-874) stamp set for the vase (super easy to fussy cut – if only all fussy cutting was this simple, eh!!) and adhered everything to my card.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Snippets set (30-283) and a few sequins.

Waffle Flower bouquet

Hello again everyone!

Next up today I’m playing along in the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches using dies from the Flower Stems set by Waffle Flower Crafts.

After colouring the dies cuts with Distress Oxide inks and coloured pencil, I cut an oval from my card base. I then adhered a piece of vellum embossed using the Simon Says Stamp Geometric Lattice embossing folder.

Finally I added a sentiment by Sugar Pea Designs, some sequins and stickles.

Vase of Chinese Lanterns

Happy Saturday!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge which has a fabulous palette of orange, turquoise, green and kraft.

A few weeks ago Simon Says Stamp released a new Chinese Lantern die, with inspiration from lots of designers, in particular the super talented Cindy. As a result, I was itching to play with a Poppystamps Chinese Lantern die that I bought about 5 years ago. I haven’t used it for a while, which is a shame because I love Chinese lanterns. Anyway, for my card, I coloured it with distress inks and added vellum (coloured with distress ink and pencil) behind each individual lantern. My blended background is a bit darker in real life – it’s a mix of Tumbled Glass and Broken China inks. The vase is by Waffle Flower Crafts and the sentiment is by Altenew.
