Christmas, New Year and Winter

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 22

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 22 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a palette of aqua, blue, green and kraft – so yes, that means another Christmas card with a non-traditional colour combo!

I bought the Poppystamps Bright Holly Tall Curved Border last year but despite cutting it out a few times, I don’t think I ever actually used it on a card! But today, I finally got it onto a card! Twice! I coloured the die cuts with distress inks, adhered it to an ink-blended base and added a bold Avery Elle sentiment.

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 21

Hello again everyone!

Welcome to Day 21 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge using some Penny Black products.

I actually decided to CASE a card I made a few years ago! I used distress inks to colour the Holly and Berry Branch die (51-404) and added a few Nuvo drops to the berries. Next I cut a square from an ink blended background using the Snowflake Stitch Frames (51-375) and adhered it to my card base before adding the holly branch. to finish, I added a few die cut snowflakes (Snow Family Cut Out 51-395) and a sentiment (Holiday Snippets 30-307).

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 20

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 20 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge which has a theme of ‘pinecones’ and the Double Trouble Papercrafting challenge where the theme is Christmas in July with an optional Twist to add a bow.

I don’t have many pinecones, and certainly nothing big enough to act as a focal point on its own but I saw that a lot of the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge team paired pinecones with foliage so I inked up my very old Hero Arts Pinecone Wreath stamp! I added a sentiment (also by Hero Arts) and a bow cut using a Simon Says Stamp die. To complete my take, I added a few Nuvo drops.

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 19

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 19 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Addicted to CAS challenge which has a theme of geometric.

I decided to use the Ellen Hutson Geo Tree – hard to believe that this was released almost five years ago! Time flies! I paired it with an Altenew frame die and a sentiment by Clearly Besotted.

I then spent far too long working out where to put my sentiment and then how to adorn said sentiment! In the end, I chose a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp/Avery Elle Stamptember collaboration, a Sizzix bow and some ribbon!

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 18

Happy Sunday everyone!

Welcome to Day 18 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a stunning palette of navy, turquoise, green and magenta.

What a stunning colour combo! It took me quite a while to decide on a way to showcase it! First of all I was thinking of multicoloured snowflakes but then I remembered this beautiful large ring wreath die by Simon Says Stamp – an oldie but a goodie! I coloured each bauble with my Twinkling H2O paints and adhered it to a base that I’d cut using the brand new-to-me Pinpoint Burst die by Memory Box, which I finally got my hands on this week after MONTHS of waiting for it to get into a UK retailer again!

I then spent far too long working out where to put my sentiment and then how to adorn said sentiment! In the end, I chose a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp/Avery Elle Stamptember collaboration, a Sizzix bow and some ribbon!

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 17

Happy Saturday everyone!

Welcome to Day 17 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was so pleased when I saw this sketch as I immediately thought of the Poppystamps Dancing Snowflake Tile die that was a total impulse buy when I got carried away with the online Christmas sale at one of my favourite UK online stores last December. I certainly didn’t need it but I have so many snowflake dies…..but it’s just so pretty!

Anyway, I adhered it to a very old background remnant which I have held onto for YEARS! I’m glad I finally used it!

To complete my card, I added a sentiment by Hero Arts.
