Christmas, New Year and Winter

LucieG Christmas in July 2022 Challenge

Hi everyone!

Once again, I LOVED devoting a whole month to Christmas cards, although at times it was difficult to craft as I was doing a lot of house projects as well this month.

Like previous years, I generally ‘shopped my stash’ to create my cards – I did buy a few new bits, but not much at all really, which was quite odd for me as I noticed more Christmas in July releases this year.

It was still fun to create festive cards for challenges which were not focussed on Christmas-themed cards, but at times I felt stumped by the challenges and then just created a Christmas card just for the joy of it. And that was super fun!

Thanks to everyone who followed along and shared kind comments with me – I really appreciate all of you!

Have a great day!

PS I just read my wrap-up post from a year ago. I was traumatised by losing a tiny little pine cone stamp! Who would have thought that it would be missing for almost an entire year before it finally resurfaced in early June! I never gave up looking for it and then it suddenly turned up in my adhesives drawer!

Christmas in July 2022 – Bonus Day

Hello All!

Well it’s the early hours of the first day of August! I can’t believe Christmas in July is over!  I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge I set myself and I know I will be grateful to have all these cards in November when I will need them!

Anyway, as I enjoyed myself so much, I carried on with my Christmas crafting during 31 July so I’m calling this one my Bonus Christmas in July card!

I had to use a Christmas in July purchase – the Berries and Leaves stencil by Simon Says Stamp, which I paired with a stamped sentiment from an old Simons set, plus a couple of die cut holly leaves.

Christmas in July 2022 – Day 31

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 31 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in the The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge.

It should come as no surprise that I chose the middle row – die cutting AND a chance to use some of my patterned paper mountain? Yes please! I chose an older die by Lil Inker Designs, a few sheets of blue patterned paper and got to work! It’s quite weird that my card for Day 31 uses the same technique that I used  for Day 1! The sentiment is by Mame Elephant.

Christmas in July 2022 – Day 30

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 30 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in the Just Us Girls challenge to case a designer.

I chose to CASE this card by JJ Bolton – I love her style and this card caught my eye as it is such a fabulous way of showcasing the small ornaments dies by Waffle Flower Crafts that I bought recently. I chose a smaller colour palette and added silver mirror card behind each of by die cuts! This card was a labour of love! You would not believe how much time I spent arranging all those little ornaments.

I added a sentiment by Savvy Stamps plus a small holly sprig to complete my take on JJ’s card. Thanks for the inspiration JJ!

Christmas in July 2022 – Day 29

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 29 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today’ I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a peaceful palette of cream, kraft and powder blue.

For my card, I used The Greetery’s Rustic Wreath die set plus a few Waffle Flower ornaments. I’m a bit disappointed that the blue in the photos looks much deeper than real life!

The sentiment is by Creative Expressions.

Christmas in July 2022 – Day 28

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 28 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in the Perfectly CAS challenge where the theme is ‘Festive’.

I kept my card super CAS, in line with the challenge rules to just use one third of the card base. The stamp is from an old Hero Arts/Archivers set (oh how I still miss Archivers!) which I embossed using glittery embossing powder – the sparkle is amazing in real life!
