Christmas, New Year and Winter

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 14

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 14 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

I originally planned today’s card with a challenge in mind – unfortunately I didn’t get round to making it before the challenge deadline, but then I decided to make the card anyway!

I chose the older Simon Says Stamp Corbel tree die which I cut from white card three times and then inlaid pieces cut from some Craft Consortium ink drops paper. This turned into quite a labour of love as there were a lot of tiny bit – those little circles were especially fiddly and kept on disappearing on my craft mat!!

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 13

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 13 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at the 52 Christmas card challenge using products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

I started by cutting a circle from my card base using a die from the Stitched Circles set (51-551) and then adhering an ink-blended panel behind it. I cut the Berries die (51-712) from white cardstock, coloured the berries with an alcohol marker and some glittery Nuvo drops. I adhered it to my card and added a (tweaked) die cut bow from the Joy of Giving set (51-748) and a few birds from the Nestlings set (51-755).

The sentiment is from the Jolly Snippets set (30-925).

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 12

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 12 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

First, I created an ombre ink blended panel with distress oxide inks and cut it with the fabulous Immense Joy die (51-742) kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

I then stamped the cute snow cat from the Snow Days stamp set (30-882) on my card base and coloured it with my Twinkling H2o paints. You can’t really see it in the photo, but I coloured a background as well. To complete my card, I added some glitter to the snowcat – it’s so sparkly in real life!

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 11

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 11 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

Today I’m playing along with a new-to-me challenge called Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge. One image in the inspiration collage, the blue cone wreath, took my breath away and I was totally inspired!

While I have a LOT of pine cone dies, I decided to create a wreath of blue pine sprigs using panels created with three distress inks/oxides and an Impression Obsession die set! Once I assembled the wreath, I added a Penny Black bow and a sentiment by My Favorite Things.

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 10

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 10 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

I didn’t have too much time to craft today and when I was flicking through my festive stamps, I spotted this pretty tree set by Kay Carley for Paperartsy which I bought several years ago.

I stamped the largest tree image directly onto my card base and used the coordinating stencil to colour a tree shape with Peeled Paint distress ink. I lifted the ink from the flowers using water and applied some aqua shimmer on the petals and added some stickles – this card really shimmers!

The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 9

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 9 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This CAS card took far longer to create than it should have because I didn’t like my numerous ink-blended ovals! In the end I chose this one which is a combination of Saltwater Taffy, Wilted Violet and Stormy Sky distress inks! I adhered the little snowman scene from an older Create-A-Smile die on top.

For the background, I used the fabulous Spun Glass embossing folder by Simon Says Stamp.

No sentiment on this card – after spending so long on that ink blending, I just felt I’d mess up a stamped sentiment!
