Birthday

Rosebud

Happy Friyay!

I created today’s card using an older stamp from Hero Arts plus a couple of stamps from different Altenew sets. As I wanted the leaf to bend outwards at either side of the rosebud image, I had to bend the leaf a little on my acrylic block. Sometimes stamps spring back quickly when I try to do this, but it worked out fine with this!

I coloured the images using some distress ink and also my Twinkling H2Os – which I also used for the smooshed background. It shimmered so much, it was quite a shame to cover it up! I used an older Avery Elle die to cut out the images.

I’m entering this card into a number of challenges:

Seven Hills Crafts Monthly challenge (I chose the middle colour scheme), Casology (cue word = bud) and CAS Colours and Sketches.

Jalopy

It may sound odd, but I really like the word ‘jalopy’! It will always bring back memories of when my dad and I accidentally encountered the London to Brighton veteran car run one Sunday when we were running errands! Of course, most of those cars were in brilliant condition, but I love the word and so I will always use it to describe those wonderful vintage vehicles!

And of course this old Hero Arts stamp was the first thing I thought of when I saw that the theme for this week’s Less Is More challenge is ‘vehicle’. I created a very simple one layer card for the challenge, adding some subtle stencilled lines to anchor the gorgeous jalopy image which I had stamped in distress oxide ink.

I added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted to complete my card!

Rainbow Maker, Day 2 Cards

Hello everyone!

Day 2 of Online Card Classes’ Rainbow Maker class was all about rainbow stamping! After last night’s epic crafty session, I am determined to go to bed at a decent hour! I have managed to get one card completed and here it is:

I used a butterfly stamp by Hero Arts and fabulous inks by Altenew! I am so impressed by how well they stamp.

To complete the card, I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and a few of my favourite Pretty Pink Posh sequins! I’m going to enter this one into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (Happy Birthday).

Hoping to add to this post later this week, when I’ve had a chance to do a bit more rainbow stamping!

For the Boys challenge

Hi there!

The challenge over at the Penny Black and More challenge blog is ‘ For the Boys’. This was quite difficult for me as I don’t have many Penny Black ‘male’ stamps, but I eventually came up with this card. I embossed the Penny Black ‘Energised’ stamp and then blended some distress oxide ink over it to create the background. I added one of my favourite Happy Birthday dies and a white frame to finish off the card.

Stencilled birthday greetings

Hi everyone!

I’m loving the sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge – here is my take using a fabulous Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stencil and distress inks. And can I say how happy I am that one of my favourite distress colours that I used here (abandoned coral) is being release as a Distress Oxide ink today! Yay!

I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it all off.

As I used a stencil, I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (‘Stunning Stencilling’) and the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (Stencil It).

Belated Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone

For today’s quick card, I used a gorgeous die from Simon Says Stamp which I cut twice – once in glitter paper and once in vellum.

I offset the glitter die cut to expose just a thin shadow of vellum. I added some Hero Arts Metallic Décor and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted to complete the card.

I’m entering this in the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – ‘birthday bash’.
