Spot the Dog

Hi there!

The Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog has another cool sketch this week which I combined with the theme for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (‘It’s a Dog’s Life’).

I pulled out my favourite dog stamp – an old wooden block stamp from Hero Arts. I love this image so much!

I raided my Patterned Paper Mountain for the various layers on the card and finally embossed a Clearly Besotted image to finish off the card.

Rainbow birthday star

Hi everyone!

The theme for this week’s Less is More challenge is ‘stars’ PLUS it’s one layer card week! I seriously think I could have made at least a dozen cards for this challenge – there are so many possibilities!

I used stamps from The Ton for this card. I was inspired by a colourful card that Virginia Lu had created for The Ton and decided to put my own CAS take on it, using distress oxide inks.

I was a bit disappointed that the sentiment didn’t stand out as much as I had planned, but I think it still works.

Striped birthday

Hi everyone!

There’s another eye-catching sketch for this week’s Case This Sketch challenge. For my CAS take, I used some double-sided tape and gilding flakes to create the silver strip and then added a few strips of coloured cardstock either side. The Happy Birthday strip was cut using a @lilinkerdesigns die. I added a few silver nailheads to finish off the card. Super quick and simple!

I’m also going to enter this into the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge – add metal.

Let’s eat cake

Hello Everyone!

For this card, I stamped and cut some Simon Says Stamp cupcakes which I then coloured using my Twinking H2Os. I stuck them to a few layers of My Mind’s Eye papers and finally added a ‘Happy Birthday’ die cut also from Simon Says Stamp.

Side note: I popped into my favourite cupcake shop last week – the Primrose Bakery in London. I can honestly say they have the best cupcakes I have ever tasted and they always have ‘special’ varieties on the counter. Last week’s special was ‘rhubarb and custard’ and was my colour inspiration:

Simple one layer Happy Birthday card

Hi everyone

I’m very excited that my Stamptember goodies came today!!!!! Before I open them up and start playing, I thought I’d share this card which I created for the current Less is More challenge – which has a theme of ‘colouring in/one-layer card’.

I stamped an image from the Simon Says Stamp Spring Seeds set and then added a sentiment from the Sketch Ranunculus set. Thank goodness again for the MISTI – I was able to position the sentiment in exactly the right spot! Would have taken ages in the pre-MISTI days!

Anyway, I dry-embossed a Spellbinders die around the image and then coloured using my Twinking H2Os. I added a touch of stickles to finish it off.

I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – both have the theme of ‘Stamp It’.

Bear family birthday

Hi everyone!

I wasn’t intending to get this bear family stamp when I saw the Hero Arts Christmas release… but then when I was buying online, I noticed that cute baby bear! Look at its little paws! Oh my goodness! I HAD to have it!

Anyway, I spent quite a while yesterday using this sweet image to practice colouring with my Prismacolour pencils. This one was my favourite image! I really like the pencils, but I do need to practice more with them!

I’m entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – Anything Goes.
