Window on Love

Happy Saturday people!

Today is a great day as I was finally able to play with the wonderful Hero Arts Window on Love confetti die! I have wanted this for soooooo long and snapped it up when Seven Hills Crafts got it in this week!

I decided to use it to play along with the current Twofer challenge (hearts).

For the first card, I channelled my inner Laura Fadora and used the wonderful ‘Press ‘n Seal’ technique that she demonstrated a few weeks ago. Thanks for the inspiration Laura, I LOVE this technique. It did take AGES to apply foam to the back of the confetti pieces, but it was totally worth it! Once I had stuck all the little die cut images to the base card, I embossed a sentiment (from an older Hero Arts set) on vellum and stuck it onto the card.

For my second card, I used just a few of the die cut hearts to create a little strip on my CAS card. The sentiment is also from an older Hero Arts stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Another favourite hobby

Hi everyone!

It’s been a gorgeous afternoon here, makes me want to get out in the garden again! Alas, spring is not really springing as we have another colder snap heading our way.

Still, when I saw the Time Out challenge theme (hobbies), I thought of gardening. Well obviously I could have chosen crafting, but I wanted to celebrate another hobby. If time permits, I may enter again with a crafty card!

Anyway, for this CAS card, I coloured a Simon Says Stamp image with my Twinkling H2Os – it was wonderfully shimmery in the gorgeous sunlight this afternoon, but so hard to capture on camera!

I was intending to follow the challenge’s optional twist of a one layer card, but I’ve added a small bit of bling – so not sure that it still counts as a one layer card?

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – anything goes.

LucieG,

Birthday parcels

Hi everyone!

For today’s card, I used the wonderful new parcel dies from Simply Graphic. As soon as I saw that circular parcel, I knew I would have to buy the set – it’s so unusual!

I cut the parcels twice – from some My Mind’s Eye paper and then from some silver glitter paper and did a bit of inlaid die cutting. I popped the parcels onto a lightly inked background and added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted to finish off the card.

Birthday Star

Hi Everyone!

I need to rebuild my supply of birthday cards, so I turned to the current Case This Sketch Challenge for inspiration for today’s card.

I used a range of supplies/techniques – inlaid die cutting (with a Poppystamps die), dry embossing (with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix folder) and a tiny bit of stamping courtesy of Clearly Besotted!

ETA: With the encouragement of the lovely Trina, I am also posting this to the current Less Is More challenge (dry embossing). I was reluctant to do so after my last entry into that challenge (I was not aware of their rule change about dry embossing), but I am grateful to Trina for her support and encouragement.

Gilded Flower

Hello everyone!

I bought a couple of new Woodware stamps at the start of the year and have been wanting to use this beautiful big bloom for a while. It’s a large image and I thought it would be perfect to use with this week’s sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This was very quick to make – less than 15 minutes! I stamped the image and embossed it with Ranger sticky embossing powder. I then added some Cosmic Shimmer Autumn Leaves gilding flakes. I die cut the image and stuck it on top of the two strips of glitter paper that I had stuck to the card base.

Very easy, but effective! Love the shimmer so much!

Die cuts only

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is die cuts only and our sponsor is Stamplorations.

I think this may be my favourite theme to date! I love using my dies – they are brilliant for quick CAS cards!

For my card, I used an image die from Simply Graphic together with a sentiment die from Savvy Stamps and a banner die from My Favorite Things.

I’m also entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge (lilac, green, grey and white).

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and Noga Shefer, an instagram follower, is our Guest Designer.

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!
