Owls galore!

Hello everyone!

Hope you’re having a great weekend! I had one of those days today. You know when little tasks take forever and before you know it the whole day has just disappeared!

I did manage to get into the craft room for Day 9 colouring for the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge and for my take on this week’s fun sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I used some of my MANY MANY owl stamps! All of these are from my wood mounted collection and are by Hero Arts. I finished off my card with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Happy Friyay friends!

I loved a card that Impress Cards shared in a recent email – and as I had the stamp, I knew that would have to be my wood stamp for Day 8 of the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge! I coloured the cute images using my Twinkling H2O paints but quite honestly I’m not that happy with how they turned out. Still, I decided to press on with my card anyway and masked off the images to create the background using a Create-a-Smile background stamp and some blended distress ink. To finish off the card, I added a sentiment by Simon Says Stamp.

Let’s eat Cheesecake!

Hello friends!

Today I have a card made with an old wood-mounted stamp by Hampton Art. The bird is cute but to be honest I really wanted the sentiment! Words to live by I say!

Anyway, Once I stamped and coloured the bird, I repurposed a Poppystamps tree stamp to create the branches for this little bird to stand on!

Sweet buds

Hello everyone!

Day 6 of the Daily Marker Colouring Challenge on Instagram and Day 6 of my personal challenge to use my older wood-mounted rubber stamps.

Today’s chosen stamp is called ‘Sweet Buds’ by Penny Black and is from 2012! I so enjoyed playing with this one again!

I stamped and coloured the image and then I embossed a frame using a circle die. I then masked around the circle and blended a little grey distress ink. The sentiment is by Penny Black.

This was such a fun one-layer card – and although I’ve already shared my DT creation for AAA Cards Challenge this week, this card also fits our theme and optional twist!

Anyway, I’m entering this card into three challenges: Penny Black & More,  CAS Colours & Sketches and a new-to-me challenge, Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Sweetheart kitty

Hello everyone!

Today, I chose an older Magenta stamp to create my take for the current Case This Sketch challenge.

I was actually only using this image to practice with my Prismacolor pencils but I liked how the heart turned out so I decided to turn it into a card!

I had to improvise a bit with this card! I couldn’t find my small heart embossing folder so I ended up using a Hero Arts background die to emboss the heart background and then used the same die to cut a few glitter hearts to add to the card.

I’m also entering this into the following challenges:

The Paper Players – Love is in the Air

Creative with Stamps – Love

Allsorts – Love

Hello everyone!

I decided to play along with the Addicted to CAS challenge which has a code word of ‘birds’ so for today’s card I used another Hero Arts Wood-mounted stamp, called ‘Bird Family’ from 2008!

I used the sketch and colours from the current My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge and Colour Challenge. Believe it or not, those birds are stamped on bright white cardstock! Honest! It’s so weird that the camera sees is as light blue. And I just don’t have the Photoshop Skills to correct the camera!!

Anyway stamping and colouring the birds, I embossed a section of card with the My Favorite Things Moroccan Lattice background stamp and smooshed some water colour over it. I then stamped a greeting, also by My Favorite Things and finally added a few dark grey glitter stars to finish off my card.
