AAA Cards Up to one third and repeating image

Hi there!

It’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card with just one image; our optional twist is ‘inspired by TV. Our sponsor is Uniko.

I spent a little while selecting an image to use for my take – ultimately I settled on the beautiful Adeline Butterfly die by Simon Says Stamp which I cut from a background I made some time ago from Colour Bursts. I also cut the butterfly twice from vellum which I then embossed using a folder from my collection.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Helen, who has some lovely cards on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Mew did it!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday! Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!

I love this sketch – so many possibilities! I started by creating a background with Color Bursts, but I couldn’t decide on a die cut to go with it… so I left my card for a while and did other things.

When I got back to my craft table, I decided to get out my gilding flakes and try to create a background using them. I ‘painted’ some water on to my card base and then applied some Ranger sticky powder which I heated before applying the flakes. I really like how the background turned out but I knew I needed a bold die cut on top of that! I tried SO MANY different dies – foliage, butterflies, flowers. Nothing seed right until I stumbled upon this Cat Silhouette die by Birch Press Design. I love how bold it is! I adhered it to my card base and added a My Favorite Things sentiment together with a few stars to complete my take! I’m so glad I persevered!

A Flowery Hello

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge  This is one of my favourite challenges and this week they have a gorgeous colour combo… possibly my most favourite to date: plum, pink, peach and white. I must confess, I was a little nervous about creating something which would properly show off that gorgeous combo!

I didn’t like my first attempt, so I decided to try again with a different stamp and design! I embossed the beautiful Altenew Delicate Flowers Background stamp onto some plum cardstock and them coloured it in using my prismacolour pencils. To complete my card, I added a Winnie & Walter die cut and a few sequins!

AAA Cards One Image

Hi there!

It’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card with just one image; our optional twist is ‘inspired by TV. Our sponsor is Cas-ual Fridays.

The twist was a bit of a challenge for me as I don’t watch many TV shows. I do try to watch Gardeners’ World, so I pulled out an old Hero Arts silhouette stamp and got to work. I stamped the image in black ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. Taking inspiration from this fun card by Jenn Shurkus, I splattered some coloured ink across the background. I used watered-down Distress crayon rather than distress inks or sprays – I think the colour was more vibrant as a result.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Jasleen, who has some lovely cards on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Love you always

Hi Everyone!

Happy Saturday! Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!

It’s another sketch that reminds me of the London Underground but I decided to use the old Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow die set instead of a circle. When I saw the die set in my collection, I thought it was probably 8+ years old, but it turns out it was made in 2015, so not THAT old. I guess with ‘fast craft’, some things feel a lot older as they disappear quickly.

Anyway, I cut the heart from an ink blended panel and extended the arrow so it ran the width of my card. I stencilled some glitter paste on the card base before adding the die cuts and finally added a Mama Elephant card to complete my take.

Inlaid Hello Card

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!

I pulled out the Hello with a Bouquet of Flowers die from Pinkfresh Studio and a couple of old backgrounds that I created with some distress oxide inks and colour bursts. I cut the panels and got to work inlaying all those little die cut bits. It took me a while but I like how it turned out in the end.

The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Thank for stopping by!
