AAA Cards One Corner challenge with create a scene twist

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using one corner of your card base only. Our optional twist for this challenge is ‘create a scene’!

I had fun with this one! As the challenge spans Valentine’s Day, I knew I wanted to include that in some way as well as creating a scene. Inspired by this cute Frantic Stampers kitties die, I used Funky Fossil Designs’ Dry Stonewall stencil for the kitties to sit on and then softly blended some distress ink to create the moonlit sky. To complete my card, I added a few die cut hearts and my favourite Reverse Confetti sentiment – which I use every February without fail!

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Chrissie – who has some amazing CAS inspiration on her blog – you must check it out!!

Hope you can play along with us!

Colourful Cottage Stem

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! They have a wonderful pastel colour palette this week – pink, lavender, yellow and mint green!

I coloured the older Simon Says Stamp Cottage Stem die using Distress Oxide inks and a little coloured pencil for extra detail.

As I felt that pink and yellow were slightly underrepresented, I stencilled a little of both colours using a Funky Fossil Designs stencil, taking care not to overlap and create orange!

To complete my card, I added a few sequins and a Mama Elephant sentiment.

Happy Butterfly Thoughts

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! They have another fabulous colour palette this week – pale pink, blue and grey!

I created a blended panel using Stormy Sky, Spun Sugar and Hickory smoke distress ink and then cut it using the Memory Box drifting butterflies background die.

I adhered the die cut to a card base and added a Mama Elephant sentiment and a few thousand Nuvo drops to complete my card.

Love Always with Tender Heart

Happy Saturday Everyone!

The theme of the Memory Box / Outside the Box challenge is ‘hearts’ and of course I had to play along with one of my favourite Memory Box heart dies – the Tender Heart die. There are so many ways to use this beautiful die but I decided to go with a subtle colour palette of distress inks on a heart-shaped base rather than the inlaid die cutting that I’d originally planned.

I also added a couple of Poppystamps dies (Berry sprig and Tomei branch) and a Memory Box stamped sentiment.

Snowdrop vase

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I love that this sketch was designed with patterned paper in mind. I have such a mountain of gorgeous designs that have to be used! To start though, I stamped out the gorgeous snowdrop vase from the Penny Black Wintry Whites mini set. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this last January but work/life was so crazy I never got round to using it then! So it has sat in my ‘new box’ for a year, waiting for its moment to shine. As a clutch of wild snowdrops have just started to bloom in my garden, I thought it would be perfect to use today!

One I coloured and fussy cut the image, I had to select the paper. I originally chose a striped design but I wasn’t too sure about it so I left it for a little while. When I got back to my craft table, I knew I had to use a non-patterned paper as I really wanted the delicate image to pop! So I chose some unpatterned paper from the same Basic Grey paper pad.

To complete my card, I stamped the sentiment (from an older Penny Black set) and added a few sequins.
