Flowers in leafy vines

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge using products sent to me by Penny Black.

The palette this week is green, brown, black and white and after weeks of using Christmas supplies, I was very happy to get out my non-festive supplies!

I started by masking off a rectangle and blending some Vintage Photo distress ink on my card base. I then inked up the beautiful Letter Background cling stamp (40-780) and stamped it over the masked off section of my base. Then I got busy with my dies! I cut some green patterned paper with dies from the Garden Greens die set (51-652) and arranged them on the card base. I then used white glitter card and cut flowers from the Autumn Decor (51-653) and Cherry Blossom (51-419) die sets. Once I had got an arrangement that I was happy with, I stuck everything down and added a twine bow and some black centres to each flower.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Ever Thanks set (30-813).

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Throwdown – Sketch

Hello everyone!

I’m honoured to be the Guest Designer for the current sketch challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

I thought the sketch would be perfect for a little die cut winter scene! So I pulled out a stencil plus some older Simon Says Stamps dies and got crafty!

To start, I created a few hills with a My Favorite Things stencil and some distress ink. I then used the Sketch Trees and Retro Deer dies – all from 2016 I think! The stars are from a Marianne Designs set and the sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

The Design Team have some amazing inspiration over on the challenge blog – you must check it out! Hope you can play along with the challenge!

CAS Christmas Guest Designer August 2022

Hi there!

I am so delighted to be a Guest Designer for this month’s CAS Christmas Challenge.  The theme this month is ‘pine’.

For my CAS card, I used The Greetery’s Pine Botanicuts die set! I love this set so much! I adhered it to a wood slice die cut (also be the Greetery) and added a Penny Black sentiment and Sizzix bow.

The CAS Christmas DT has come up with some amazing inspiration over on the challenge blog. I hope you can play along!

LucieG Christmas in July 2022 Challenge

Hi everyone!

Once again, I LOVED devoting a whole month to Christmas cards, although at times it was difficult to craft as I was doing a lot of house projects as well this month.

Like previous years, I generally ‘shopped my stash’ to create my cards – I did buy a few new bits, but not much at all really, which was quite odd for me as I noticed more Christmas in July releases this year.

It was still fun to create festive cards for challenges which were not focussed on Christmas-themed cards, but at times I felt stumped by the challenges and then just created a Christmas card just for the joy of it. And that was super fun!

Thanks to everyone who followed along and shared kind comments with me – I really appreciate all of you!

Have a great day!

PS I just read my wrap-up post from a year ago. I was traumatised by losing a tiny little pine cone stamp! Who would have thought that it would be missing for almost an entire year before it finally resurfaced in early June! I never gave up looking for it and then it suddenly turned up in my adhesives drawer!

Christmas in July 2022 – Bonus Day

Hello All!

Well it’s the early hours of the first day of August! I can’t believe Christmas in July is over!  I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge I set myself and I know I will be grateful to have all these cards in November when I will need them!

Anyway, as I enjoyed myself so much, I carried on with my Christmas crafting during 31 July so I’m calling this one my Bonus Christmas in July card!

I had to use a Christmas in July purchase – the Berries and Leaves stencil by Simon Says Stamp, which I paired with a stamped sentiment from an old Simons set, plus a couple of die cut holly leaves.

Thanks for stopping by!
