Happy Heart Day 2021

Happy Heart Day everyone!

I’m back and playing along with two challenges with this card today – the CAS on Friday challenge where the theme is ‘love’ and the Addicted to CAS Challenge where the theme is ‘Hearts’.

First of all I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the pretty Potted Passion stamp by Penny Black, Then I started on the background. I was originally planning to have an ink-blended circle in the centre but BOTH of my circle stencils have gone AWOL. So annoying! Instead, I decided to die cut a frame using the Penny Black Happy Heart Day Lovely Border dies. These are rectangular, but I just moved the die and partically cut it twice to create a square which I felt would give me more space for that lovely bold sentiment.

I adhered some patterned paper that was already on my table – I was so chuffed that it matched the colours of the leaves of my image so beautifully! I then stamped the sentiment – this is one of my absolute favourites! It’s from a 2006 Stampendous set and has really stood the test of time.

Finally I adhered the image and a few die cut hearts to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi, Lucie. That’s a great idea about adjusting the proportion of the die cut to make a square – something I haven’t had the nerve to try yet. I like the soft water-colored appearance of your card. Thank you for including it in our “Hearts” challenge at ATCAS. xoxo, Fran

  2. Lovely card! Great job at being nimble and being able to adjust to not being able to find your circle stencils. I really like the finished card. The colors are beautiful. Thanks for joining us at Addicted to CAS.
