Heart stems

Hello friends!

I am so honoured to be the Guest Designer over at the Case This Sketch challenge this week.

There’s a fabulous new sketch to play with – I had a lot of fun coming up with my card!

I cut four thin strips of cardstock to create an ombre-effect base. I then cut the Impression Obsession heart stems and added four of them to my card. Finally I added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted to finish off my take on the sketch.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

A pocket of berries

Hello everyone!

I’m playing along with the current Case This Sketch Challenge today.

When I saw the sketch, I decided to do some partial die cutting with an image from the Penny Black Sunny Wishes set.

After embossing the image, I used a circle die to cut part of the image and fussy cut the rest.

I used the same circle to cut part of a background I created ages ago using some distress stains. I then cut the rest of the panel using a rectangular die so that I had stitching all around the panel, rather than just where I had cut the circle.

I adhered the panel and the image to the card base and finished off my card with a die cut sentiment from Mama Elephant.

In the frame

Hello everyone!

My latest Simon Says Stamp order arrived this morning! Always a good way to start the day!

Anyway, I had resisted buying the Outline Floral Frame at the start of Diecember and my resolve lasted all of 28 days when I snapped it up in the Simons Diecember sale. I couldn’t wait to play with it!

I decided to colour it using my Twinkling H2O watercolours! This is seriously shimmery in real life!

I added a Happy Birthday die cut, also by Simon Says Stamp, and a few Nuvo glitter drops to the centre of the flowers to finish off my card!

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday challenges where the theme is ‘something new’.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bluebell

Hello there

Today I have a card that I made for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

To start with, I chose an image from an older Penny Black set called Enchanted Garden, stamped, coloured and fussy cut it.

I created my background panel by gently applying a layer of Bundled Sage distress ink using a Tim Holtz blending brush to create an ombre effect. I then used an Ultimate Crafts embossing folder that seemed to match the image very well but which, somewhat worryingly, was brand new but I have no recollection of buying!

I stamped a Clearly Besotted sentiment on a strip of grey card an then cut a slightly longer strip of clue glitter card and then set about assembling the card. I added a few glitter drops as a finishing touch!

Ornate Trims

Good morning everyone and welcome to the first AAA Cards Challenge of 2019.

We have a fun sketch challenge for you today. You don’t have to create a square card – in fact most of my teammates haven’t done so, but I really like square cards and so I stuck pretty closely to the sketch!

Anyway, as soon as I saw the sketch, I thought of another never been used stamp set – the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ornate Trims set. I masked off an area on the front of my card and got to work with my Distress Oxides.

You’ll see this year we are introducing ‘optional twists’ and this fortnight the twist is pastel colours. As this card was super quick to create, I did another one with pastels. The sentiment stamp is by Simon Says Stamp.

My teammates have made fantastic CAS cards with this sketch and we are also joined my the talented Maria from the White Mood blog.

I do hope you can play along with us – the winner will receive a stamp set from our sponsor Happy Little Stampers and the opportunity to be a guest designer.

Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Vine Birthday

Hi there!

I love the dainty Flower Vine set that Altenew released just before Christmas and was really looking forward to inking it up and colouring it in! Isn’t it a pretty stamp?

I also got the coordinating dies and used them on this card for a sweet crafty friend who is celebrating her birthday today.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.
