The Greetery

Christmas in July 2022 – Day 18

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 18 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in the Just Us Girls colour challenge.

I just received the fabulous diamond frame die by Waffle Flower Crafts and couldn’t wait to get crafty with it! In the end, I layered a few die cuts and inlaid the gold sections. The ornaments are from The Greetery’s Curio Attic Ornaments set and the sentiment is by My Favorite Things.

Christmas in July 2022 – Day 7

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 6 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m doing something I rarely seem to do – sharing a card that I created without a challenge in mind!

I wanted to use an absolutely gorgeous die set that I didn’t get round to using when I got it last December – the fabulous Christmas Time in the City die set by the Greetery. I coloured all the images using distress inks and used a Reverse Confetti frame die to ground the images. The frame is actually longer than the one in my card – I snipped off a section on either side and hid the joins under the die cut images!

The sentiment is from a set by My Favorite Things.

Springtime Pussywillows

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the ‘Choose Two’ challenge at Just Add Ink.

The choices were stencilling, heat embossing and/or texture paste. Well I haven’t used texture paste for ages so I knew I definitely wanted to use that and chose stencilling as my second option.

I started off by lightly stencilling a My Favorite Things brick stencil onto my card base with Pumice Stone distress ink. Then I mixed a little Speckled Egg distress ink into some texture paste and applied it through the stencil.

I decided to add The Greetery’s Pussy Willow Botanicuts dies as my focal point – all coloured with distress oxide ink and Prismacolor pencil. The sentiment is by Memory Box.

Curio Spring Greetings

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the spring Time Out challenge.

I’ve been wanting to use the full Curio Spring Findings die set from The Greetery for a while and this challenge was the perfect excuse, especially as the challenge graphic reminds me of the Crocus Mother’s Day card I made with The Greetery dies!

This card was quite the labour of love – it took me so much longer than expected to colour all those little die cuts with distress ink. But I got there in the end! I adhered all the dies onto a base I’d created by lightly blending some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink onto Simon Says Stamp fog cardstock. I like how that turned out so will definitely be doing that again!

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh.

Wildflower bouquet

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge which has a very LucieG-palette of pink, sage green, lavender and blue.

It’s weird, but when the combo contains MY colours, I always feel a bit more pressure to show them off well. Today, I decided to create a bouquet of colourful wildflowers using The Greetery’s Wildflower botanicuts and a bouquet die from Simply Graphic, all coloured with distress inks. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Happy Mother’s Day 2022!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share one of the cards I gave to my lovely mum today!

My mum has been very keen to have purple crocuses in her garden this year and when I saw The Greetery’s new crocus botanicuts set, I knew it would be perfect for a Mother’s Day card for her!

I spent a while trying a lot of different ink combos – using regular distress inks and distress oxides. In the end I just used one colour (Villainous Potion Oxide) and simply applied it more lightly for some petals. I absolutely loved making these flowers and ended up with a HUGE bunch for her card!

I adhered them onto a circle of patterned paper and then added an Avery Elle sentiment and a few sequins to complete my card.

I’m entering this into a new-to-me challenge, Cardz for Galz, where the theme is Spring Flowers for Mother’s Day.
