Featuring stamping

Berry Thanks

Hello everyone!

I have a quick one layer card to share with you today. This one uses a large image from Penny Black’s  Berries Delight stamp set.

This image is tall, but I still wanted to use a standard UK card base for my card so I stamped the image on a larger piece of card which I trimmed down after I had coloured it.

After I had finished colouring, I decided to smoosh some distress ink on the background – a bit stressful doing this AFTER I had coloured the image, but I took my time and was very careful and didn’t ruin my colouring! Phew!

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Penny Black Grateful Heart sentiment set.

I’m entering this into the current Time Out challenge.

Poley Penguin

Happy Tuesday!

Today I used Art Impressions’ fabulous ‘Poley Penguin’ to create a quick CAS Christmas card.

After stamping the image with Pumice Stone distress oxide ink, I masked it off and lightly stencilled an area around the image using an Echo Park stencil. I removed the mask and coloured the image using my Prismacolor pencil before adding some glitter to Poley’s hat!

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from Avery Elle.

I’m entering this into the current CAS Christmas Card challenge – the theme is ‘birds’.

Quirky Christmas Trees

Hi there everyone!

Today I’m sharing my entry for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I used the fabulous Quirky Trees from Avery Elle and a few of my new distress oxide inks (Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters and Pumice Stone).

This card actually came together really quickly and is one of those rare cards that falls into the ‘less than 20 minutes’ category!

Feel the joy of the season

Hello everyone!

Today I have a card I made using one of my favourite Penny Black dies and the Simon Says Stamp/Gina K Stamptember stamp set.

I started playing with my new distress oxide inks and the row of fir trees stamp and never really intended to use it for a card… but I really liked how it turned out….

So I simply trimmed down the panel and added some snow using Tim Holtz/Ranger Grit paste, which I hoped would stay an opaque white, but the colour of the ink is starting to discolour it a little I think…

Anyway, I then added the fabulous Penny Black snowman and a sentiment from the set and hey presto, a card from my practice stamping!!

I’m linking this up to the Penny Black Holiday challenge.

Have a great Sunday, all!

Joyful Wishes

So today I have been playing with my new goodies and made a card for the current Color Throwdown challenge which has a palette of green, kraft and white.

I used a background stamp and sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp together with a cute deer from Poppystamps’ ‘Whittle’ series. Isn’t he cute?

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is ‘animal kingdom’ and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (‘anything goes’).

Thanks for stopping by!

Tribute to Melissa

Hello everyone

I was shocked and so very saddened to learn of the passing of my sweet AAA teammate and friend, Melissa Lane, on 2 October. She was such a kind-hearted and modest soul who was devoted to Jesus and her beloved family. My heart goes out to all of them at this terrible time.

Today my AAA Cards teammates have joined with STAMPlorations to celebrate Melissa’s artistic and creative talents. Melissa’s favourite colour was red and she loved butterflies and we’d like to invite you to join us in celebrating her life by creating a butterfly card in her memory.

The AAA blog post has full details about where you can share the card that you create and how you can send it to Melissa’s family.

Rest in peace my friend. You are so missed.

Lucie.
