Day 11 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 11 was Winnie & Walter. I have a couple of older festive sets and decided on a set which I don’t think I’ve used before – Season’s Tweetings – for my take on Tracey’s sweet tag.

I created a blended background with same distress inks that Laura used (Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean) and then trimmed it down before adhering the die cut window to the base.

I loved the colour palette that Tracey used – especially for her penguin’s scarf so I followed suit! I can honestly say that I think I used a Twinkling H2O paint that I have never used before – any you all know how much I love and use them! I heat embossed some stars on the tag base before creating the soft background with Distress inks.

Enjoy your trip

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards and this fortnight’s theme is ‘on the move’. Our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers. You may have seen that Kylie has very sadly decided to close down. She has a closing down sale at the moment – amazing bargains to be had there.

I decided to use a stamp from Happy Little Stampers’ Wish You Were Here set to create a CAS bon voyage card. I just love the detail on the London skyline stamp! I heat embossed the image and then lightly blended some distress ink over the background. I added a small sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and a little die cut heart to finish off the card.

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by the talented Kim from Joyful Creations as our Guest Designer. She has some fabulous creations – you must pay her a visit!

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!

Day 10 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 10 was Studio Katia. I don’t have any of their stamps but I do have a few of their dies and decided to use the Creative Stitched Window die for my take on Laura Volpes’s amazing tag.

I created a blended background with same distress inks that Laura used (Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean) and then trimmed it down before adhering the die cut window to the base.

I stamped and cut the Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins and adhered them to the tag, together with a sentiment by My Favorite Things.

Day 8 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 8 was Uniko – they have some fabulous stamps and stencils and the inspiration tags were brilliant! I don’t have any festive Uniko stamps at the moment so I decided to use an older stamp set – Family and Friends by Hero Arts – to create my take on Joyce Mehrberg’s amazing tags! I just loved how she used the fabulous tree stamp to create such a unique tag!

I stamped the large tree from the set using Broken China Distress Oxide ink and applied silver Stickles across them. I added a sentiment from the same set and then added a few glittery Whittle Trees from Poppystamps to finish off my take.

Grateful

Hi everyone

Last night I went to the Tower of London’s sound and light installation marking the 100 year anniversary of the end of World Ward I. Very moving. I loved the poppies in 2014 and this year’s installation is equally special.

I was inspired to create a poppy card using an older Penny Black wood-mounted stamp and the sketch from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. to finish off the card, I added a simple sentiment by Concord & 9th.

Thanks for stopping by.

Day 6 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 6 was a new-to-me brand, Paper Sweeties – it certainly looks like they have some cute stuff, I may have to place an order soon!

I was inspired by the tags made by Lisa Bzibziak – the non-traditional colour combos were wonderful and when I saw the pile of cups, I thought of my Newton’s Nook Cup of Cocoa stamp set which I bought last year, but still hadn’t got round to using!

I coloured the cups using my Twinkling H2O paints and then fussy cut them. I added a Poppystamps sentiment die cut to the base of the tag and then adhered all the cups!

Thanks for stopping by!
