Technique – Stamping

Featuring stamping

Much Love to you

Hello again everyone!

Next up today is my entry into a new-to-me challenge, Sunday Stamps.

I used stamps and dies by Penny Black – the stamped images are from the fabulous new Garden Fresh stamp set (30-816) – I used the coordinating dies (51-703) to cut them out. There isn’t a coordinating die for the mason jar image, but it’s super easy to fussy cut. I coloured the images using my Twinkling H2O paints.

For the background panel, I cut the Geometric Circles die (51-644) twice and adhered sections together to create a longer die cut. I hid the join behind the little bench from the Autumn Decor die set (51-653). In fact, I actually reduced the width of the bench by trimming out a middle section – the join is hidden behind the mason jar image!

Finally I added a sentiment from the Ever Thanks set (30-813).

Cherry blossom smiles

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along a new-to me challenge,  Hand Stamped Sentiments using products by Penny Black.

I cut an ink-blended panel using a die from the dainty dashes stackers set (51-636) and then coloured a couple of the Cherry Blossom die cut images (51-419) using my Twinkling H2)s and prismacolor pencils.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Thinking of You clear stamp set (30-825).

AAA Cards One Layer challenge with Hexagons twist

Hi there!

It’s time for the a new challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a one-layer CAS card; our optional twist is ‘hexagons’.

For my card, I created an ink-blended hexagon using a Taylored Expressions stencil and then stamped an image from an old Hero Arts set called Asian Frames. I was so chuffed that the stamp was a perfect fit with the ink-blended hexagon! I then added a few smaller hexagons using another Taylored Expressions stencil and a sentiment by Clearly Besotted.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Sue, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

MFT sketch challenge – feel better

Hi there!

I don’t think I’ve played along with the My Favorite Things sketch challenge since October, and having been inspired by this week’s sketch, I decided to play along!

I created a couple of stencils using my circle dies and gently blended some distress ink. Then I cut and coloured die cut shapes from the Dienamics Houseplants die set.

I arranged all the die cuts on the background before adding an stamped sentiment from the MFT Essential sentiments set and a few mini sequins.

Companions

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the current  Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I decided to use stamps from the new Penny Black Delight release today. When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought of the beautiful Companions cling stamp (40-769) which I thought would fit perfectly on the right hand side of the card against an ink-blended background. I stamped the image in Antique Linen distress ink and coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os. I couldn’t get the shimmer to show up in my photos sadly. After colouring, I masked off the image and created an ink-blended background, following the sketch. I think re-stamped the image to emphasise the lines (thank goodness for my MISTI!).

Finally I added a sentiment from the Thinking of You clear stamp set (30-825) and a few sequins.

Christmas Card Throwdown – Perfect Pearls

Hello everyone!

I’m honoured to be the Guest Designer for the current stash challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown! The challenge theme is ‘perfect pearls’. At first I wondered if this would mean that I would finally use some of my MANY pearl embellishments but it’s actually about Perfect Pearls powder by Ranger.

I’m fortunate have a lot of colours of Perfect Pearls as I found them on sale in a store in the US a few years ago! I don’t use them that often so I was very happy to get them out of the cupboard again!

For my CAS card, I used a new-to-me Christmas Trees stamp set by Darkroom Door and three Perfect Pearls powders. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

The Design Team have some amazing inspiration over on the challenge blog – you must check it out! Hope you can play along with the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
