AAA Cards One Inchie challenge

Hi there!

It’s time for the a new challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using just one inchie only; our optional twist is ‘masculine’.

I kept my card extremely CAS – with an inchie by Darkroom Door. I was going to colour it in but I decided that I actually liked the monochrome effect. No room for a sentiment with this stamp, but that’s fine too. I’m a great believer in ‘less is more’.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Laurie, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Autumn Happiness Wreath

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the challenge at the Four Seasons challenge using Penny Black products.

I absolutely love the new Golden cling stamp (40-782) and was so excited to ink it up. I haven’t been doing much stamping and colouring recently and I really enjoyed using my beloved Twinkling H2O paints again! Can you see the shimmer in the second photo? So difficult to photograph!

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from the Autumn is Calling set (30-863) and also softly sponged some distress ink to the background to create a layered effect without adding too many physical layers.

AAA Cards sketch challenge

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using the sketch below and if you want to join with our optional twist, please use a gnome!

For the main image, I used my new Fir and Foliage No. 2 set from The Greetery. So pleased that Seven Hills Crafts is stocking this brand now! I added a bit of silvery twine and a Mama Elephant sentiment.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards using  LOTS of gnomes (or gonks as I know them as!) which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Fran, who has some lovely cards on her blog – go check it out!!

Hope you can play along with us!

Magical wispy trees

Happy Saturday everyone!

I used the fabulous new Winter’s Wispy Trees from the Stamp Market plus a die cut and sentiment by My Favorite Things.

Halloween Trio

Happy Friyay!

Today I’m playing along with the current theme challenge over at The Paper Players .

As soon as I saw the inspiration collage that Laurie had put together. I knew I had to go with a striking black cat image. I love this trio from and older Tim Holtz Halloween set. After creating my ink-blended background, I  stamped the image using Black Soot distress archival ink. I love how this is a true black ink and this image stamped so beautifully! The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted, stamped in two shades of Distress Oxide so that the colour was a bit close to the colour of the regular distress inks I used to create the background.

Autumn Tree-heart

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge  which has a lovely autumnal combo of red, purple and orange.

For my take I used very old and very new products by Penny Black. The Tree-heart stamp (40-505) is from 2012 – I love that it hasn’t been retired! It’s always been one of my favourite trees to colour! I paired it with a sentiment from the Autumn is Calling stamp set (30-863) which has only just been released!
