Technique – dry embossing

Featuring dry embossing

Made in May Card 14

Hello everyone!!

It’s been a busy bank holiday Monday for me – mainly dodging rain showers to cut my lawn! Fortunately I just managed to squeeze in time for my entry into the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I used a few images that I had already created during earlier crafty sessions – more images from Pinkfresh Studio’s beautiful Sakura stamp set that I used last month and that woodslice is by Stampin’ Up.

The fabulous embossing folder is the Rosette Burst by Spellbinders and the sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

Hello everyone!!

I was short on time today so chose a very quick CAS card using one element of the Spellbinders Patchwork embossing folder.

The flowery panel was slightly too short for my card base so I cut it and then adhered the Heffy Doodle sentiment die to hide the gap in the panel!

I added a few glittery butterflies from a Paper Rose Studio die set to complete my card.

Hello everyone!!

Today I’m finally using the fabulous buttercup die set by Simon Says Stamp that I just HAD to buy when I saw an amazing card created by the talented Cindy Norberg.

The wood slice is from a die cutting/embossing folder set by Stampin Up that I got some time ago but hadn’t used. The sentiment is from a set by The Greetery.

Hello everyone!!

Today I’m playing with a few new-to-me die sets. I just realised that I spotted them in an online sales section (at different times). Both were sold out but I hunted them down and found them elsewhere – I happily paid full price because they are fabulous sets!

The daisies are by Papertrey Ink and the basket is by Sunny Studio. Both sets have so many possibilities!

The background embossing folder is by Stampin Up and the sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Hello everyone!!

Today I’m playing along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Today I wanted to use a die set that I’ve had for over a year but never used – the Honey Bee Stamps Wagon Wheel. The wheel turned out to be much larger in real life than I was expecting and so I put it to one side and forgot about it. When I saw the sketch, I decided to see if I could make it work.

I chose a larger card size (just under 15cm x 15 cm) so I could still have a lot of that nice open space around the wheel. To ensure that the two background strips did not pull the eye away from my wheel, I used light ink blending and an Elizabeth Crafts border die cut from whit cardstock – so all the sketch elements are there!

I’ve had the Poppystamps cat die forever! It’s called Large Curious Cat and is dated 2013. I’m pretty sure I would have bought it as soon as it came out as I have a family of cat lovers so it would have had a lot of use back in the day! The Woodland Avery bird is by Flora and Fauna and I picked it up in a recent sale. Isn’t it cute!

The background embossing folder is by Stampin Up and the sentiment is by the Ton Stamps.

Hi there!

For today’s super CAS card, I used a very new embossing folder by Spellbinders called Molded Frame plus a couple of Simply Graphic dies that I’ve had for a year or so.

I love this folder – very simple and absolutely perfect for showcasing a delicate image.

As I’m trying to build up my ‘mailable’ cards this month, I didn’t add a sentiment but will probably add one before I mail it.
