Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 22

Hi there!

It’s Day 22 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

Today I’ve paired a frame from the older Simon Says Stamp Holiday Frames die set with some fabulous vintage baubles from The Greetery’s Curio Attic Ornaments die set. The baubles arecut from Craft Consortium paper but you would not believe how often I second guessed myself on the pearlescent card I used for the other elements of each bauble!!! I got there in the end though!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 21

Hi there!

It’s Day 21 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

It’s time to ink up Papertrey Ink’s fabulous Enchanted Forest tree stamps again! I was shocked to learn that this stamp set is from 2018 – I’m pretty sure that I only bought them a few years ago but a quick search of my blog reveals that I actually bought them in summer 2020!

I arranged my selection of trees on a Spellbinders die cut and added a Clearly Besotted sentiment.

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 20

Hi there!

It’s Day 20 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

I’ve been missing creating with my Pinkfresh Studio supplies this month as I don’t have many festive products by them. But today I pulled out a product suite called Joy of the Season which I had as part of the October 2024 Create and Connect event.

I really like the arch design but I’ve been struggling with how to use it. Well today I realised that it would be a perfect frame to showcase a pretty embossed background! I chose the beautiful Pinecones & Berries folder by Spellbinders.

The sentiment is by Poppystamps.

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 19

Hi there

It’s Day 19 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025 and I have a another twofer for you today.

I love the large shaped card die sets that I have by Bibi Cameron/Spellbinders and have been hoping for a Christmas tree set at some point. Today, I decided that I would create my own shaped tree card with an older Concord & 9th tree die that I picked up in a sale recently.

I used a couple of shades of green ink to create backgrounds that I then die cut. I partially cut a couple of card bases to create a shaped card base and adhered the die cut trees on top, hiding the section of the folded card that was not die cut.

For the ornament tree, I used dies by Concorde & 9th and Memory Box. The glittery foliage card uses dies by Crealies, Spellbinders and Simply Graphic.

I am so pleased that both these cards stand nicely on the little trunks!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 18

Happy Festive Friday!

It’s Day 18 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

I’ve had this beautiful Piped Icing Star by Birch Press Design for sometime now. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to use it…. and isn’t that snowflake amazing? That will be appearing on other cards soon I think!

The card design went through MANY versions: a background die (no), an embossed background (no), foliage at the top and bottom (no), foliage at the top only (also no)… but I think I needed to go through each step to get to the final version… and it didn’t actually take THAT long to go through all the stages. The foliage I kept is by Pinkfresh Studio and the cute bow is an older Poppystamps die.

Once again, I wasn’t sure where to put the sentiment so in the end I decided it didn’t need one!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 17

Hi there!

It’s Day 17 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

I love the Swirly Tree by Dixie Craft and was excited to use it again today. I had originally planned to use it with a diffused embossed background but I didn’t really like how it turned out so I CASE’d one of my own cards from November 2023. I created an ink blended background using Pinkfresh inks and added a little trunk from another die cut. I think it completes the image, don’t you?

I used a Spellbinders/Simon Hurley embossing folder with matt silver mirror card. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.
