30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 1

Hi everyone!

I can’t believe it’s November already, can you? It’s always a busy month for me but when I stumbled on Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge, I decided to jump right in! All my own cards are done thanks to Christmas in July so this one is for the joy of creating.

The first challenge is ‘O Christmas Tree’ well of course I had to use the Stampin’ Up Decorative Trees for this one didn’t I? The sentiment in the set is absolutely perfect for today’s theme! The glitter circle was cut with a Hero Arts stars background.

Ghost Week – Day 5

Hi there and Happy Halloween!

It’s Day 5 of Ghost Week and I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge (I have NEVER entered this challenge so early!!) and this month’s Memory Box challenge where the theme is ‘happy haunting’.

For today’s card, I used the Cookie Jar die that was part of the Pinkfresh Holiday Event earlier in the month. I think I would have preferred to use a bigger card base to more add more white space around the focal point but I also wanted to use my Simon Says Stamp ghosts embossing folder one last time this year and guess what won that design struggle?!

I cut ghosts from Memory Box’s fun set of Haunting Ghosts which I’m proud to say that I have used on three cards this year! The fabulous houses are from Poppystamps’ Twisted Houses set – they worked so well with the jar!.

Ghost Week – Day 4

Hi there!

It’s Day 4 of Ghost Week and today I’m also playing along with this month’s Memory Box challenge where the theme is ‘happy haunting’.

Who said ghosts had to be white? I created some colourful felt ghosts with two new-to-me die sets by Memory Box – the brand new Haunting Ghosts set and the Ghosts in the Forest set.

The sentiment is by Creative Expressions.

Ghost Week – Day 3

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 3 of Ghost Week!

I had such fun creating this card… and a LOT less fun to photograph it!

The card base is this gorgeous patterned ombre mirror card that I picked up in a sale! I was so excited to use it and very pleased with how it turned out… until I came to photograph it. The lights in my photobox reflected badly and none of my cameras would take a true likening. So I had no choice but to wait for natural light. We have typical British grey autumn weather right now so even this was difficult and I did have to brighten the images I took but I got there in the end.

I used dies by many of my favourites – Penny Black, Tim Holtz/Sizzix, Poppystamps and Memory Box.

Color Throwdown

Hello everyone!

It was so sad to read the tributes to Barbara Anders on the Color Throwdown blog this week. I had noticed that she had stopped designing a while ago as I always loved seeing her cards, she created some amazing inspiration. I also loved her joy of travelling and in particular her IG posts from my home town – her sense of adventure and love of travel and appreciation of her surroundings really touched me.

I send my heartfelt condolences to her husband, family and friends including the CTD team members past and present who shared such beautiful words. She touched many hearts and will be very missed.

The combo this week is orange, cream and kraft and I used a variety of Spellbinders products for my take. The sentiment is by Technique Tuesday.

Ghost Week – Day 2

Hi there!

It’s Day 2 of Ghost Week and today I’m also playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

It’s such a versatile sketch this week and I was all ready to create a Christmas or autumn card before I thought of ghost week!

Today I’ve used two brand new die sets – the Poppystamps Ghostly Cats which I first used on this card and Memory Box’s fun set of Haunting Ghosts (I just used the smallest die).

I adhered the kitties and ghosts to an ink-blended strip and added a few die cut glitter stars. This one really has quite a cosmic feel doesn’t it?!

I’m also entering this into the current Poppystamps challenge – ‘Get your Spook on’!

Thanks for stopping by!
