Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Christmas Boutique

Hello Everyone!

Just popping in with a mini card that I wanted to share at Christmas, but that was delayed due to a migraine!

Anyway, I picked up the Christmas Boutique die set in Spellbinders’ pre-Christmas sale and was thrilled to receive it just before Christmas. This was not on my wish list at all, but it was a real bargain so I just had to get it! I’m so glad I did as it was an absolute joy to use! I know some people may find all the little die cutting a bit fiddly but I love die cutting and colouring so I was in my element!

Shiny Icicles

Hello everyone!

I was really pleased when I saw the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week as I thought it would work perfectly with the new Greetery Crystal Charms dies that I purchased this week.

I cut four different types of holographic card with the dies – it’s disappointing that my white holographic card just looks like white glossy card – it’s much more visible in real life, I promise! I also cut some vellum flowers/snowflakes from the Frost Buds die set that I also got this week and added lots of bling!

I created the soft blended background using Speckled Egg distress ink and the amazing Pinkfresh Studio big blending brushes which make blending a dream!

Peaceful pine

Hello Everyone!

Back in July, I made the decision to make cards to send out this Christmas – and Today Me is very happy that I did that because now I can just craft for fun in December! Of course I seem to be making Christmas cards for all the challenges that I’m now entering, but that’s ok because there’s no pressure!

Today’s card is my entry in this week’s Color Throwdown challenge which has a combo of green, red and cream. Classic Christmas colours!

I used the beautiful Delicate Pine Frame die set by Memory Box, coloured with distress inks. The background was made using the Spellbinders July 2024 Club 3D embossing folder called Branches and Berries.

Three fun trees

Hello everyone!

A quick post today with my card which is my very late entry into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

It’s a lovely sketch this week and a perfect way to get back to my CAS roots after the stress of the November challenge.

I stamped and cut lots of the images from the Papertrey Ink Enchanted Forest set during Christmas in July and I thought they worked perfectly with the sketch.

I will be back a bit later with more photos – got to press publish now to hit the challenge deadline (hopefully)! (ETA – now added!)

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 30

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month. It’s the last day! I’m so chuffed that I managed to play along, even if I didn’t always keep up every day!

The theme of Day 30’s challenge is ‘countdown’.

I struggled with this one and quite honestly I just wanted to get this challenge finished! I ended up using the Waffle Flower Crafts small ornaments die set, lots of Craft Consortium paper and an old scrapbooking calendar stamp set!
