30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 4

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month.

Today’s challenge is  a colour combo – red, yellow and blue. I always find it difficult to create with this combination, but this was a little easier as the blue was defined as ‘electric blue’ that looked closer to Tumbled Glass than a primary shade to my eye!

I used dies from Honey Bee Stamps’ Build a Snowman set, an October Afternoon background stamp and a favourite Ellen Hutson heart die.

The sentiment is by The Stamp Market.

Hey mustard pumpkin

Hi again!

Next up today is my entry in this week’s Color Throwdown challenge which has a combo of mustard, kraft and terracotta.

For my take, I used new-to-me dies by Memory Box – who says you can’t have butterflies and pumpkins? Although I suppose it could also be a moth, there’s a lot of them around this time of year! I coloured the die cuts with distress inks and distress mica spray.

The sentiment is by Spellbinders.

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 3

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month.

Today’s challenge is ‘Sleigh Ride’. I have quite a few sleigh dies which I looked at using but then I unearthed this fabulous Memory Box horse and sleigh die that I snapped up in a sale earlier this year!

I cut the horse from felt and coloured the metal part of the sleigh with a silver deco pen. I adhered the images to a base that I’d covered with Bo Bunny paper and added a few trees, a Creative Expressions sentiment and a few snowflakes to complete my card.

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 2

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month.

Today’s challenge is ‘Gingerbread Dreams’. I couldn’t find any gingerbread stamps or dies in my rather extensive collection but then I remembered the Gingermas House that I received in Pinkfresh Studio’s Holiday event kit!

I embossed it on kraft and coloured it with my Prisma coloured pencils. I embossed a kraft background panel with a Spellbinders folder and added The Greetery’s Pine Wisp die cut (which is actually cut from antique gold card) before adhering the house and adding a few pearls to complete my card.

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 1

Hi everyone!

I can’t believe it’s November already, can you? It’s always a busy month for me but when I stumbled on Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge, I decided to jump right in! All my own cards are done thanks to Christmas in July so this one is for the joy of creating.

The first challenge is ‘O Christmas Tree’ well of course I had to use the Stampin’ Up Decorative Trees for this one didn’t I? The sentiment in the set is absolutely perfect for today’s theme! The glitter circle was cut with a Hero Arts stars background.

Ghost Week – Day 5

Hi there and Happy Halloween!

It’s Day 5 of Ghost Week and I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge (I have NEVER entered this challenge so early!!) and this month’s Memory Box challenge where the theme is ‘happy haunting’.

For today’s card, I used the Cookie Jar die that was part of the Pinkfresh Holiday Event earlier in the month. I think I would have preferred to use a bigger card base to more add more white space around the focal point but I also wanted to use my Simon Says Stamp ghosts embossing folder one last time this year and guess what won that design struggle?!

I cut ghosts from Memory Box’s fun set of Haunting Ghosts which I’m proud to say that I have used on three cards this year! The fabulous houses are from Poppystamps’ Twisted Houses set – they worked so well with the jar!.
