Day 19 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 19’s inspiration is Day 13, 2011. I LOVED that red background and used the Birch Press Design Frosty Flake layering set for my take.

Pink, grey and silver forest

Hello again everyone!

Next up today is my entry for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge, which has one of my favourite combos – pink, grey, silver and white.

I used the gorgeous Wispy Trees by The Stamp Market, stamped with distress oxide inks. I added a few strips of silver glitter paper and some silver thread to add some different textures as well as a bit of festive bling! Finally I stamped a Mama Elephant sentiment to complete my card.

Bird in a Wreath

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge with Penny Black products.

After smooshing some distress ink onto my card base, I added the Whirl Wreath (51-151) and coloured the berries with a white coloured pencil. I then coloured the bird from the Nestled die set (51-722) using distress inks and nestled him into the wreath! For the other two elements of the sketch, I used the branch from the Peaceful Pines die set (51-705).

Interestingly the sentiment caused me the most problems! Everything I tried seemed to big or too small…. When I was rifling through my older Penny Black sets, I spotted the fabulous word tree in the older Season’s Wishes set (30-201) (it’s from 2013 but still available). I used a couple of post it notes to mask off the sentiment above and below the ‘Season’s Greetings’ part of the tree, and stamped! I really liked how it turned out so I was was pretty pleased to have found that sentiment!

Day 18 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 18’s inspiration is Day 2, 2012. I liked Tracey’s inspiration but I wanted to see her own inspiration so off I went on a Google search! As I was scanning images, I spotted these beautiful tags by Heather Nichols, so I decided to used those for my take. I used a circle frame die from The Greetery and a wonderful old wood-mounted stamp by Amuse Art Stamps!

Day 17 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 17’s inspiration is Day 7, 2018. Back then, I lamented that I couldn’t find a UK stockist for Birch Press Designs, but now we have the fabulous Bumbleberry Crafts and I have a lot of Birch Press Designs die sets! Yay!

I loved Eloise’s colour combo for her tags using the Radiant Ornament layering set so I decided to put my own spin on it for my tag!

Day 15 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 15’s inspiration is Day 15, 2018. I was particularly drawn to the more intricate nature of the tags in this blog post. You can see what I created back in 2018 here and this time I’ve chosen Tanja’s tag. I just LOVE how she created that background and I’m very grateful that she included instructions.

I used my brand new Pinecone Plethora embossing folder from Gemini. You may remember that my original embossing folder met with a rather sad end. But thanks to a lovely IG friend, I located and won its replacement in an ebay auction! Phew!

The dies are by Simply Graphic and Savvy Stamps.
