Rosy Hello

Hi there everyone!

Next today I’m playing along with the fab combo in this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (pink, mint and grey).

First, I embossed the Hello with a Bouquet of Flowers die by Pinkfresh Studio onto white card before colouring the leaves and petals and trimming round the edge of the die cut. I then used the die to cut some grey cardstock and adhered the die cut to the coloured image. Finally I adhered it to my card base. Quite a simple card, but you would not believe how long it took me to colour that image – so time consuming!

CAS Christmas Guest Designer

Hi there!

I am so delighted to be a Guest Designer for this month’s CAS Christmas Challenge.  The theme this month is ‘ornaments’.

For my CAS card, I used a beautiful PaperArtsy stamp which fits the theme but is rather unusual! I’ve has this set for a while now, but I don’t think I’ve ever used this image. It was such fun to colour with my Twinkling H2O paints – the shimmer is amazing in real life but always so difficult to capture on camera!

I was a bit nervous about adding a sentiment as the first few sentiments I tried seemed a bit too large, so I was quite relieved when I found this small sentiment by Mama Elephant.

The CAS Christmas DT has come up with some amazing inspiration over on the challenge blog. I hope you can play along!

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 26

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 26 of  Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. I wasn’t initially planning to play along with this colour combo because I have so many non-traditional festive cards but inspiration hit me last night when I was looking through my Penny Black stamps.

I love this Christmas tree from the All Wrapped Up set (30-607) and I thought it would be perfect for the colour combo! After creating a subtle background frame with distress ink, I stamped the tree and coloured it using my Twinkling H2Os – it has such a wonderful shimmer! To complete my very CAS card, I added a sentiment from an older set called Christmas Fashion (30-127).

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 21

Hello again everyone!

Welcome to Day 21 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge using some Penny Black products.

I actually decided to CASE a card I made a few years ago! I used distress inks to colour the Holly and Berry Branch die (51-404) and added a few Nuvo drops to the berries. Next I cut a square from an ink blended background using the Snowflake Stitch Frames (51-375) and adhered it to my card base before adding the holly branch. to finish, I added a few die cut snowflakes (Snow Family Cut Out 51-395) and a sentiment (Holiday Snippets 30-307).

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 18

Happy Sunday everyone!

Welcome to Day 18 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a stunning palette of navy, turquoise, green and magenta.

What a stunning colour combo! It took me quite a while to decide on a way to showcase it! First of all I was thinking of multicoloured snowflakes but then I remembered this beautiful large ring wreath die by Simon Says Stamp – an oldie but a goodie! I coloured each bauble with my Twinkling H2O paints and adhered it to a base that I’d cut using the brand new-to-me Pinpoint Burst die by Memory Box, which I finally got my hands on this week after MONTHS of waiting for it to get into a UK retailer again!

I then spent far too long working out where to put my sentiment and then how to adorn said sentiment! In the end, I chose a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp/Avery Elle Stamptember collaboration, a Sizzix bow and some ribbon!

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 15

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 15 of  Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches .

I’m so happy to say that this sketch enabled me to use one of my must-have dies by The Greetery that I bought last year – the Cosy Cup Coaster die which served as a base for my foliage arrangement cut with couple of Poppystamps dies (Pine Branch and Holiday Mistletoe).

To complete my card, I added a sentiment by Mama Elephant and a Sizzix bow!
