Flower Vine Birthday

Hi there!

I love the dainty Flower Vine set that Altenew released just before Christmas and was really looking forward to inking it up and colouring it in! Isn’t it a pretty stamp?

I also got the coordinating dies and used them on this card for a sweet crafty friend who is celebrating her birthday today.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Dear Daffodils

Hello everyone!

Happy Friyay! As sad as I am that the festive season is over, I really enjoyed making a spring birthday card today.

As soon as I saw the colour palette for the first Color Throwdown Challenge (yellow, green, black and white), I knew I had to do something flowery! This coincided with the arrival of my Clearly Besotted order and I could not wait to inck up the Spring Daffodils stamp. I coloured them using my Twinkling H2O paints and then adhered the image to a smooshed background I created some time ago using distress oxide inks. And I finally used the My Favorite Things label die which I have had for ages but which I haven’t used….

I added a Brushed Sentiment also by Clearly Besotted and a few Nuvo glitter drops to finish off my card.

Festive thanks

Hello everyone!

I’m not quite ready to put away my festive supplies! I love using them for thank you cards that I hand out after Christmas.

This is the card I made for my lovely mum using Simon Says Stamp Winter Flowers stamps and matching dies. I embossed, cut and coloured all the images with my Twinkling H2Os and then created a see-through card front using Jennifer McGuire’s press n seal technique. Time consuming but totally worth it! The sentiment is by Winnie and Walter.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (something new – the matching dies were a new purchase).

Snowflakes Christmas Wishes

Happy Christmas Sunday!

Do you ever see a stamp and think it’s definitely going to be your go-to stamp for Christmas cards this year? Well that’s exactly what happened to me when I saw the Hero Arts Delicate Snowflakes background stamp in October! And you know how many times I’ve used it before today? Once. yep, that’s right people, ONCE.

So I was determined to use it again before I pack away my festive supplies. I heat embossed the image and then used the ‘plastic bag technique’ to colour the background with distress markers and water.

I then die cut a Hero Arts ‘Christmas’ several times and stuck them together to create a thick sentiment. Finally I stamped ‘wishes’ onto a separate banner and added it beneath the 3D die cut.

It turned out to be a super quick make – hopefully I’ll use the stamp more before next Christmas!

I’m entering this into the current A Blog Named Hero challenge – the theme is ‘winter’.

Day 24 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 24 was Sunny Studio. I LOVE Sunny Studio’s colour layering stamps – so easy to line up and stamp beautifully, but unfortunately I missed out on getting the holly and pine cones this year. Still, I wanted to create a tag with similar images as I loved Kim’s tag so I pulled out the Hero Arts Happy Holidays set and got stamping!

I drew around the outside of a circle die so that I had a stamping guide and then stamped the images, starting with the greeting in the centre. I coloured the images with Twinkling H2o paints and added some gold ribbon as the finishing touch.

Day 22 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 22 was Waffle Flower and the team had many colourful tags – such great inspiration. I decided to base my tag on Channin Pelletier’s fun tree tags.

I used my new Pretty Pink Posh Festive Tree dies again and got to work! I loved the soft aqua tree that Channin created and it looks like she either inked the edges in white or only coloured part of the tree. I reckon she did the former!

I actually coloured each layer of the tree using an Altenew Alcohol marker and then added a few Nuvo Jewel drops and a glitter star to complete my tag.
