Harvest of Sweet Memories

Hello everyone!

I have a few posts today as I share cards I made recently for a few challenges that close today.

First up is my entry in the Color Throwdown challenge using some products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

The combo this week is mossy green, rust, kraft and cream – another set that’s perfect for autumnal cards!

I have to say the background was a labour of love! I cut the Leaf Pattern die (51-432) from a panel of cream cardstock. I put the main image to one side (you may see that later this autumn!) and adhered the frame and 3,000 tiny leaves to the card base.  I used the die cut image as a guide to position all the leaves and then worked in sections, picking up gluing down about 8 at a time. It didn’t take too long really!

All the stamped images are from the fabulous Owlsome set (30-718) – I just adore that owl with his leafy ears and wings! And the separate leaves are so pretty! I coloured them with my Twinkling H2O paints and added some stickles too – I wish you could see how sparkly this is in real life!

The sentiment is from the Always Thankful set (30-932).

Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Brolly

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the challenge at the Four Seasons challenge using products kindly sent to me by Penny Black, including a stamp set from their wonderful brand new release, Autumn Gala.

I absolutely love the autumn umbrella in the Fall Breeze set (31-010) – such a clever idea. This was so much fun to colour with my beloved Twinkling H2O paints! I fussy cut the image and adhered it to my card base which I had stamped lightly with the Brick Wall cling stamp (40-137). I added a few leaves from the Pumpkin Parade die set (51-754) and the green squiggles are from the Pumpkin and Leaves set (51-360).

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from  set and a few sequins.

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 28

Happy Friyay everyone!

Welcome to Day 28 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with this fortnight’s CAS Colours and Sketches sketch challenge finally using a stamp with a story….

Back in 2011, I saw this fun stamp and cut reindeer set by Hero Arts and really wanted it but I had just bought another fabulous Hero Arts deer set which was quite similar and I couldn’t justify buying this one. I spotted it in a sale at one of my local craft stores (ah those halcyon days of bricks and mortar stores!!) a year or so later, but for some reason I didn’t pick it up….

Over the years I thought about it and checked Ebay every now and then….. and then two years ago a set popped up! My offer wasn’t accepted so I forgot about it again until last December when I saw it on Ebay and this time my offer was accepted! Yay! I’m not sure why it has sat unused since then, but hey, I waited 12 years for it, what’s a few more months?!

The sentiment is from a Penny Black set.

Hollyhock Heaven

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m using more products that Penny Black’s kindly sent me from their recent Hello Sunshine release. For this card, I usedAntique Linen distress ink to stamp the beautiful Hollyhock Heaven cling stamp (40-824) on some watercolour cardstock and coloured it using my Twinkling H2O paints. Once the paint was dry, I stamped the image again as I felt that some of the leaves needed a little more definition. I wish I could capture the shimmer on my photo!

To complete the card, I added a sentiment from the Happy Builder mini stamp set (30-973).

Doodle Eggs

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown which has a fabulous combo of pink, rust and green.

I decided it would be a fab combo to use for the Simon Says Stamp Doodle Eggs background stamp. I loved this stamp since it came out in 2018 but couldn’t justfy the purchase, so when it popped up in the Steals and Deals section last year, I managed to grab it. I coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints and added a sentiment by Creative Expressions.

Easter icons wreath

Hi there!

I actually had time this evening to make a card… or rather I MADE the time – you see, as soon as I saw the Just Add Ink challenge graphic, I knew I to play along because I had the perfect set by Pretty Pink Posh!

My card is very CAS – a simple embossed background using a Stampin Up folder and then the wreath which I coloured with my Twinkling H2O paints.

The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.
