Sending Smiles

Happy Saturday!

I’m still playing catch up with the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge so I’m popping in quickly with my colouring for Day 13!

I used one of my favourite Hero Arts wood mounted stamps – the Nice Little Flower Border from 2005. I remember using this stamp a LOT back in the day. It’s not as long as the width of my card, so I simply stamped it in the centre and then once either side. I never used to do that! I think I was nervous about lining up the image, but after using rubber stamps a lot again this year, I’m much more confident when I stamp with my wood stamps and Hero Arts stamp very well, so it was actually pretty easy to line up the image!.

I coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and added a sentiment from a newer Hero Arts clear set.

I’m entering this into the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Pocketful o’ posies

Happy Friyay friends!

Life just got a little busy so now I’m playing catch up with The Daily Marker 30 Day colouring challenge and my wood stamp challenge. This is my colouring for Day 12. I decided to play along with the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. I love how they have such unusual sketches! I immediately thought of my Hero Arts stamps when I saw this one. Back in the day (15 years ago apparently!), Hero Arts produced the ‘Pocket O’ Posies’ sets – a trio of flower stamps in a little box. I LOVED them and collected quite a few sets. I used the Country Garden Posies for this card.

To be honest, I’m not sure about this card now that I have completed it. I feel like I should tweak something, but not sure what. So instead I shall walk away and look at it again tomorrow!

The sentiment is also by Hero Arts and I used dies by My Favorite Things and Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sending you strength

Hello everyone!

Day 11 of the latest Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge and my personal wood stamp challenge.

Today I’m playing along with the latest challenge from The Paper Players. I was determined to use something other than my beloved Twinkling H2Os today so I opened up my Prisma Color pencils again! I loved colouring this older stamp, Delicate Flight, by Memory Box.

The image does not cover the full length of the card but I wanted to extend it so that the stems appeared under the sentiment. I simply cut the image and adhered it to my gold panel with a gap of about a centimetre between the two sections of the image. I adhered the embossed My Favorite Things sentiment over the gap. Shhhhh! no-one will ever know!

Garden Girl

Hello everyone!

Day 10 of the latest Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge and my personal wood stamp challenge.

Today I’m playing along with the latest Case This Sketch challenge.

I seem to spending a LOT of my free time in my garden at the moment – it’s become quite overgrown and so I’m doing a lot of weeding and pruning. A lot of hard work, but very rewarding! So today, I inked up the Great Impressions Garden Squares stamp and coloured it with my beloved Twinkling H2Os. I really must try another medium tomorrow!!

Anyway, I added a sentiment from an older Kelly Purkey clear set and a Penny Black butterfly to complete my take on the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

You are Majestic

Hello everyone!

Day 9 of the latest Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge and my personal wood stamp challenge and today I’m playing with two Hero Arts stamps sets that were manufactured ten years apart!

Over a decade ago, I saw the cutest lion stamp ever – the only problem was that he was in a set with three other cute animals which I couldn’t justify buying…. but as we know, my willpower isn’t strong when it comes to crafty supplies and after a little while I caved and bought the Hero Arts Playful Animals set. Imagine my disappointment when I stamped up the lion and discovered that the rubber had a few faults in it! After while, I decided to contact Hero Arts to see if I could buy just the lion. The customer services team was amazing and immediately offered to send my the stamp free of charge to the UK! I was so surprised as I’d become quite used to difficult customer service experiences elsewhere in life! But I guess that it truly the Hero Arts way – own the issue and deal with it quickly and politely to exceed customer expectations. Given my recent experience with another manufacturer (where I was made to feel like a naughty child for asking to buy a replacement for one faulty clear stamp) I’d say Hero Arts still leads the way!

Anyway I paired the lion with a sentiment from the 2017 Color Layering Bengal Tigers set and assembled the card following a sketch from a new-to-me challenge, Paper Craft Crew Challenges.

Bali Corner

Hi there!

It’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards! The theme for this fortnight is ‘one corner’ with the optional twist of flowers. Our sponsor is Uniko.

What a fun challenge… I love using flowers on my cards, especially at this time of year! After spending some time going through my wood mounted stamps, I decided to use a die! The Memory Box Bali corner die seemed made for this challenge – and I had a lot of fun colouring it in the current CAS Colours and Sketches colour combo (coral, grape and meadow)!

I added a sentiment from Reverse Confetti and a few mini gems to finish off my card.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined by the talented Maja – she has some amazing cards on her blog!

Thanks for stopping by!
