Snowdrop vase

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I love that this sketch was designed with patterned paper in mind. I have such a mountain of gorgeous designs that have to be used! To start though, I stamped out the gorgeous snowdrop vase from the Penny Black Wintry Whites mini set. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this last January but work/life was so crazy I never got round to using it then! So it has sat in my ‘new box’ for a year, waiting for its moment to shine. As a clutch of wild snowdrops have just started to bloom in my garden, I thought it would be perfect to use today!

One I coloured and fussy cut the image, I had to select the paper. I originally chose a striped design but I wasn’t too sure about it so I left it for a little while. When I got back to my craft table, I knew I had to use a non-patterned paper as I really wanted the delicate image to pop! So I chose some unpatterned paper from the same Basic Grey paper pad.

To complete my card, I stamped the sentiment (from an older Penny Black set) and added a few sequins.

Starry Flowers Hello

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! They have another fabulous colour palette this week – plum, cream and black!

I usually have problems when purple is included in a colour challenge palette, but I was lucky this week as I had a lovely shade of plum in my Twinkling H2O paint collection. So, I inked up the beautiful Altenew Starry Flowers stamp and quickly coloured it using the Twinklings and a black coloured pencil for the stems. I added a few black Nuvo drops to the centres after I cut out the image with the coordinating die. I cut the Altenew Burlap die from black card and adhered it and the flower cluster to a cream card base. To complete my take, I added a sentiment from the Altenew Painted Sentiments set and tucked it partly behind my main image.

Butterfly Wreath Hello

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! They have a super colour palette this week – blue, pink and green! The inspiration photo uses bright colours, but I chose a more pastel palette for my take.

I inked up the beautiful Reverse Confetti Butterfly Wreath and coloured it using my Twinkling H20 paints. I cut it out using the coordinating die and adhered a couple of die cut wreaths under my image to provide some depth. I added a few single butterflies from the set and a Mama Elephant die cut to complete my take.

If you enlarge the photos you can make out a very lightly stencilled background. I’m in the throes of organising my stencil mountain and I’m going to try to use more stencils in my designs. I chose a very subtle design here as I didn’t want to overpower that beautiful wreath!

Day 25 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 25 was Pretty Prink Posh. I love this brand so much and I couldn’t wait to use the winter wreath stamp set for my tag using the inspiration provided by Jeanne.

Day 21 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 21 was Studio Katia. I don’t have any of their stamps but used stamps by Hero Arts and My Favorite Things for my tag which was inspired by Carol’s tag.

Thanks for stopping by!
