Hello there cherry blossoms

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the current  Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I was really pleased to see the slimline card sketch this week as I thought I could finally use a die I bought at the start of the year thinking it was a LOT smaller than it turned out! Online shopping is tricky isn’t it? Anyway I was so glad to finally use a couple of dies from the Paper Discovery Cherry Blossoms and Lanterns die set!

The sentiment is by Savvy Stamps.

Cherry blossom smiles

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along a new-to me challenge,  Hand Stamped Sentiments using products by Penny Black.

I cut an ink-blended panel using a die from the dainty dashes stackers set (51-636) and then coloured a couple of the Cherry Blossom die cut images (51-419) using my Twinkling H2)s and prismacolor pencils.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Thinking of You clear stamp set (30-825).

Companions

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the current  Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I decided to use stamps from the new Penny Black Delight release today. When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought of the beautiful Companions cling stamp (40-769) which I thought would fit perfectly on the right hand side of the card against an ink-blended background. I stamped the image in Antique Linen distress ink and coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os. I couldn’t get the shimmer to show up in my photos sadly. After colouring, I masked off the image and created an ink-blended background, following the sketch. I think re-stamped the image to emphasise the lines (thank goodness for my MISTI!).

Finally I added a sentiment from the Thinking of You clear stamp set (30-825) and a few sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardmaking joy

Hi there!

As you’ve probably seen, I usually make cards for challenges, so I often have a starting point like a sketch or colour combo. Yesterday, I wanted to just play with my supplies. So I pulled out my Penny Black supplies and had so much fun!

I started with the bouquet from the Enliven mini stamp set (30-705) and coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and Prisma pencils before fussy cutting around the image. That took AGES, but it was worth it. I decided to add some die cut foliage using dies from the Leaflets set (51-129), the Hanging Planters set (51-501) and the Autumn Decor set (51-653).

As I couldn’t see a piece of white card on my table at the time, I was using some black card to collect all my die cut images but I ended up really liking how the black card made the bouquet and die cuts pop! Quite dramatic! So I stepped outside my comfort zone and went with the black card base!

The sentiment is also from the Enliven mini set. I actually cut the stems so that they appear a little longer on my card – the sentiment hides that very nicely!

I REALLY enjoyed making this card. It was so much to to just PLAY and see where I ended up! Cardmaking brings me so much joy!

I decided to link this card up to a couple of challenges with a flower theme – Seize the Birthday (make it a bouquet) and Moving Along with the Times (a bouquet of flowers).

Butterfly circles

Hi everyone!

Next today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I seem to be going through a circle phase at the moment! This time I used the fabulous Paper Artsy Gwen Lafleur No 8 Cling set that I picked up about six months ago. I stamped the image and cut it out using a circular punch. I coloured it with my  Twinkling H2Os and adhered it to a circle cut from some of my Basic Grey patterned paper mountain. To complete my very CAS card, I added a small sentiment by Clearly Besotted.

Pretty Eggs

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

As I’m still on my Easter card drive, I just had to play with my new Pretty Pink Posh Spring Eggs! I decided to use the wonderful Sunny Studios basket stamp to corral the eggs – and then at the last minute, I added a little fun chick (by Simon Says Stamp). The sentiment is also by SSS.
