Bits Blitz February 2026 – Day 6

Hi there!

It’s Day 6 of LucieG’s Bits Blitz! Day 6 already! It’s been a great relied to finally use my bits this past week – it may sound odd but I can feel the burden of past crafty me being lifted! I can start to look forward and I am so looking forward to colouring images and yes, creating a fresh pile of bits!

Today I used some die cut washi images from Pinkfresh Studio’s Whimsical Blooms product suite with a fabulous frame die that I picked up in the recent Sizzix sale. The frame reminded me of a fabulous older Taylored Expressions embossing folder called Weathered, so I pulled it out and used it for my background! The sentiment is from the Enchanting Flora product suite.

Heart Week 2026 – Day 5

Happy Friyay!

Welcome to Day 5 of Heart Week 2026!

Today’s card has been a year in the making! I bought the cute Taylored Expressions egg cup dies last February with a view to making a cup full of hearts card but then something must’ve happened because I never got round to creating it! So today was the day. I dug into my beloved Basic Grey patterned paper mountain, pulled out some super old Simon Says Stamp/Kelly Purkey heart dies and got crafty!

I then spent far too long looking for a stamp set with the perfect sentiment. I know I found in the depths of my craft room at some point last year because I was annoyed I didn’t have it to hand for Heart Week 2025. Well guess what, it’s AWOL for Heart Week 2026 too! Great! So I chose a stamp from a trusty Mama ELephant set instead. When I find it again, I’m going to keep it on my craft table until Heart Week 2027!!

To complete my card I adhered my image to a background I embossed with Poppystamps piercing dies

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 26

Hi there!

It’s Day 26 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

I’m slowly building my Pinkfresh Studio collection and when I saw the Winter Berries product suite, I HAD to have it! It’s retired so it took me a while to track it down, but I’m glad I did – it is a joy to colour!

Today, I arranged all the die cut berry branches in a pail from the Taylored Expressions Antique Pails set and adhered everything to a base layer that I had embossed with a Nellie Snellen folder.

Fabulous Crane

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. Cecile has shared a fabulous arty sketch and I totally thought I would use a die cut flower as the focal image… until I sat down at my craft table!

I picked up a few products that I had just received in my last Simon Says Stamp order and flicked though them… as soon as I saw the amazing Block Print Crane die by Birch Press Designs, I pivoted as I knew it would work perfectly with the sketch. I tried to resist buying this die as my common sense told me that I wouldn’t use it… but my resolve just disappeared when I placed my Simons order – I mean it is just so unique! I’m very happy I got to use it for my take on the sketch! !

For the background I used stencils by Taylored Expressions. I was going to add splatters or stamped dots but in the end decided that a few sequins would work well plus I could play around with their placement without committing!

The sentiment is from an older Sugar Pea Designs set.

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 6

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 6 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024! Today I’m honoured to be the Guest Designer for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown’s Sketch challenge.

I have to confess that it took me some time to create this card. I wanted to be true to my CAS style but there are a lot of panels in the sketch. Eventually I chose a subtle Taylored Expressions embossing folder to create two white background panels – they’re a bit difficult to see in the smaller photos, but they are there – promise!

I then added the beautiful Memory Box Frosty border that I trimmed a little plus additional die cut snowflakes and a sentiment from a very old Hero Arts wood-mounted set.

The Design Team has some amazing inspiration on the challenge blog – I hope you can play along!
