Stampin Up

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 19

Happy Festive Friday everyone!

Welcome to Day 19 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024!

The Spellbinders July Club 3D embossing folder is called Pine Cones & Berries so of course I had to have it! It arrived this morning and it is absolutely STUNNING – the texture is amazing, and I just had to make a card with it straightaway!

I paired it with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix pine die and some cones from the Stampin’ Up Christmas Pinecone die set. Again I uses layers of white glitter card for snow, but you can’t see the glitter very well in my photos sadly!

The sentiment is also by Sizzix.

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 14

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 14 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024 and this might be my favourite card so far this month!

I’ve had a bit of a ‘thing’ for pinecones since the Great Pinecone Debacle of 2021 and I have managed to collect a surprising number of dies and stamps in a relatively short time! Today I used the Stampin’ Up Christmas Pinecone die set. I have been wanting this set since it was released in 2021 and when I saw it deeply discounted in the retirement sale earlier this year, I just jumped at the opportunity to buy it!

There’s a lot of inspiration for this set out there but the one card that really struck me was made by the talented Linda Heller who used one of the layers to add snowy accents to the pine cones and branches. I used white glitter card for the base layer and distress inks to colour the second layer. After adhering the layers, I added it to a coloured card panel – oh my goodness, I just love that snowy effect! Thanks Linda, for your amazing inspiration!

The sentiment is from the Puffy Holiday Greetings set by Mama Elephant.

Red Bouquet

Happy June everyone!

How can it be June already? After a super busy May, I’m hoping to have more crafty time this month and I want to gear up for my annual Christmas in July challenge!

Today I’m playing along in this week’s Color Throwdown challenge which has a very patriotic red, white and blue combo. I briefly toyed with creating a litt;e London scene with some of my older stamps but my dies won the day and so I ended up with a non-patriotic card, although I do feel this could also be used as a remembrance card.

The two flower dies are by Simon Says Stamp (Layered Perky Flower and Cosmos Stem) and I adhered them to a background embossed with my favourite Stampin Up folder called Painted Texture.

The stamp is by The Greetery.

Under the Tree

Happy Festive Wednesday (!) everyone!

I know the big day was less than two weeks ago, but making Christmas cards throughout the year definitely reduces my stress levels in November and December. So I’m kicking off my 2024 challenge participation with the 52 Christmas card challenge where the technique is one of my  favourites – clean and simple! I mean, how could I not play along with that one?!

I ‘ve had my eye on the Creative Expressions one liner die collection since 2022 and just before Christmas, I managed to pick up this beautiful die called ‘Under the Tree’ in a great sale. I used it for a card for my dad and decided it would be perfect to use again for this challenge. I coloured the tree with Cracked Pistachio, Rustic Wilderness and Evergreen Bough distress inks and used Unchartered Mariner and Tumbled Glass for the presents. I adhered the tree to a base that I had embossed with a Stampin Up folder and added a sentiment from a set by My Favorite Things.

Easter icons wreath

Hi there!

I actually had time this evening to make a card… or rather I MADE the time – you see, as soon as I saw the Just Add Ink challenge graphic, I knew I to play along because I had the perfect set by Pretty Pink Posh!

My card is very CAS – a simple embossed background using a Stampin Up folder and then the wreath which I coloured with my Twinkling H2O paints.

A challenging combo

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown ! Now I have to confess that the palette was very challenging to me. I’m not sure why… maybe the graphic… maybe just the combo… I really struggled with the aqua as I usually choose a lighter shade when using that colour… but in the end, I stopped overthinking it and just used Peacock Feathers which looked close to the colour in the graphic!

I didn’t like the card I made yesterday so I redid something more ‘me’ after work this evening – I’m glad the challenge doesn’t close until 11pm UK time! I used a vase stamp by Stampin’ Up, stems from Simply Graphic and a frame by Reverse Confetti. The sentiment is by My Favorite Things.
