Christmas in July 2024 – Day 15

Hello everyone!

It’s Merry Monday and Day 15 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024!

Today’s card is made almost exclusively with Tim Holtz products! I made some shimmery panels with distress mica stains and cut them with the fabulous Tim Holtz/Sizzix Ornamental Birds dies – another festive treasure that I unearthed while I was hunting for that stamp that I don’t think I own!

I adhered them onto a background embossed with the fabulous Sparkle embossing folder – the dimension is amazing! This is my favourite folder from the collection! The sentiment is also from an older Tim/Sizzix set.

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 12

Hello everyone!

It’s Festive Friday and Day 12 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024!

While I was hunting for a stamp that I don’t think I own last weekend, I unearthed a few festive treasures that I HAVE to use! First up is this Hero Arts/Sizzix Trees background stamp/embossing folder set. The packaging says 2011 and I can’t remember when I last used it… Quite honestly I had forgotten all about it!

I stamped it onto some pale blue card and waited for the ink to dry before dry embossing it. I knew I wanted to use this bold merry stamp as well, but it took FOREVER (and many, many , many glittery die cuts) until I embellished it with silver thread. Sometimes the simplest card takes the longest, eh!

Color Throwdown Artsy Leaves

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown which has a colourful combo of green, yellow, red and white.

I managed to pick up the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Artsy Leaves die set last weekend – they arrived quickly and I have been looking forward to using a few of them – today was the day!

I cut them from some Craft Consortium paper and white glitter card before adhering them to my card base that I’d also covered with patterned paper.

The sentiment is by Penny Black.

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 27

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 27 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with this week’s The Paper Players sketch challenge.

The star of today’s card is made from the fabulous Poppystamps Pine Needle Shoots die. I’m not sure how I missed it when it was released last year – I snapped it up as soon as I saw it online in January, knowing that it would get some use in July! I can’t believe that I didn’t use it until Day 27! But when I saw the sketch, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to showcase the pine needles. I cut each set of shoots three times from an ink-blended panel I made ages ago and then layered them up.

I used the amazing Sizzix 3D Christmas Trees embossing folder. I’ve had this a few years now and it is still one of my favorites!

The sentiment is from one of my trusty Mama Elephant sets.

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 15

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 15 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.

This week’s combo is aqua, kraft, gold and cream. I just love the inspiration pic and toyed with bringing in mid-century modern elements, but I really wanted to use the Sizzix Honeycomb Frenzy embossing folder that Broni used on one of her DT cards a few months ago – I rushed online and found said folder which arrived promptly but remained untouched!

So I started with a piece of embossed gold mirror cardstock and went from there. I chose the Snowflake Sprig by Memory Box and the Simon Says Stamp Alicia snowflake plus a My Favorite Things sentiment. I still felt the card needed a little something more so I added a few snowflakes from a Lawn Fawn set and LOTS of shimmery paint splatters!

Another Bird Trio

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

I knew I wanted to use the cute Sizzix/Olivia Rose Painted Birds die set and used Craft Consortium paper to create a few birds. I then spent a LOT of time trying out different shapes to replicate the circles in the sketch. In the end, I used a foliage die from Honey Bee Studio.

The sentiment is by Woodware.
