Christmas in July 2020 – Day 29

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 29 of Christmas in July! Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at  CAS Colours and Sketches.

I used another Penny Black set today for the main image – this is from a much newer mini set called Nature’s Decor. I coloured it using my beloved Twinkling H2O paints and added a circle frame from Simply Graphic. The sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set.

Christmas in July 2020 – Day 12

 

Happy Sunday all!

Welcome to Day 12 of Christmas in July! Today I’m playing along with one of my favourite challenges – the Color Throwdown challenge. This week’s colour palette (orange, green, burgundy and pink) didn’t scream ‘festive’ at me like last week but I realised that I could make it work with some of my newest Simply Graphic dies! I decided to just colour the leaves and berries with distress ink – I quite like how it turned out!

I usually apply the ‘rule of three’ when adding stems to my vases but I couldn’t find any that worked here, but luckily I don’t think it feels to unbalanced, do you?

To complete my card, I added a sentiment by Mama Elephant and a few sequins!

Christmas in July 2020 – Day 9

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 9 of Christmas in July! Today I’m playing along with the Memory Box / Outside the Box challenge where the theme is ‘framed’.

I bought this beautiful Memory Box Pine Tree Frame die last year but didn’t have time to use it, so I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

I coloured the trees using Speckled Egg distress oxide ink – this colour really seemed to get greener as it dried! I adhered the coloured layer to two other die cuts to give it a bit of depth before adhering it to a panel I created from Distress Oxide inks some time ago.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Welcome to Day 8 of Christmas in July! Today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at  CAS Colours and Sketches where the colour palette is – green, grape and blue! I wanted to create a card showcasing my gorgeous new snowflake die from Simply Graphic – so I kept this super simple!

To complete my card, I added a sentiment by Mama Elephant – their sentiment sets are turning into my go-to set for this Christmas in July!!

Today I’m playing along with the current challenge over at Time Out Challenges where the theme is ‘days gone by’. I immediately thought of my retro ornament dies by Simply Graphic. Aren’t they fabulous. They bring back so many memories! I the branches dies are also by Simply Graphic. The sentiment is from a very versatile sentiment set by Mama Elephant.
