Dreaming of Cherry Blossom Season – Part One

Hi everyone

After a snowy week, it’s starting to feel like spring is in the air and I’m ready to make some flowery cards! When I saw the colour palette for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (pink, grey and kraft), I immediately thought of cherry blossoms.

My card came together very quickly – I stamped an coloured an older image from Hero Arts with my Twinkling H2Os and then embossed a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. After adhering the pieces to my grey base card, I added some enamel dots and a bit of bling!

I’m also entering this into the current Case This sketch challenge.

Bold happy birthday

Hi everyone!

The snow is almost completely gone here after a horrible evening yesterday. Such a relief! We just don’t ‘do’ snow – and I certainly don’t!

Anyway, onto my card. I find ‘cutesie’ really difficult. I see all these gorgeous cutesie cards on Instagram, I buy the stamps and I just can’t seem to use them! Like the Mama Elephant little cat agenda… I got them as soon as they came out and they have sat untouched ever since! I’ve been really inspired by Ellenor’s beautiful creations – I can’t get over how many creative ways she has used the little kitty images! So today was the day I actually inked them up and started to use them.

I’ve also used a Simon Says Stamp die (with another background created with the glazed distress oxide technique) and so I’m entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge. I’m also counting this as my Work Your Stash Wednesday creation on Instagram as I used an unused stamp and die set and an unused embossing folder!

Another favourite hobby

Hi everyone!

It’s been a gorgeous afternoon here, makes me want to get out in the garden again! Alas, spring is not really springing as we have another colder snap heading our way.

Still, when I saw the Time Out challenge theme (hobbies), I thought of gardening. Well obviously I could have chosen crafting, but I wanted to celebrate another hobby. If time permits, I may enter again with a crafty card!

Anyway, for this CAS card, I coloured a Simon Says Stamp image with my Twinkling H2Os – it was wonderfully shimmery in the gorgeous sunlight this afternoon, but so hard to capture on camera!

I was intending to follow the challenge’s optional twist of a one layer card, but I’ve added a small bit of bling – so not sure that it still counts as a one layer card?

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – anything goes.

LucieG,

Be my Valentine

Another day, another Valentine card. Just can’t stop. In fact I have so many heart dies and stamps I could probably do a Valentine/love/friendship card every day for the next month before using them all!

Today’s card uses the Simon Says Stamp Heart Parade Die, which I think was one of my first SSS dies. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

As part of my crafty goal to use all my embossing folders this year, I used four folders by four different companies – Sizzix, Carabelle Studio, Crafts-Too and the company that sparked my interest in embossing and die cutting – Cuttlebug!

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – it must be love and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – love/hearts.

Hearts Border cards

Happy Saturday everyone!

I didn’t have much time to craft today, but I did manage to make these three cute inlaid die cut cards using the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Cupids Heart Boarder die.

I also tried out the new Avery Elle liquid water colours – love them!

I added sentiments from My Favorite Things and Clearly Besotted to finish the cards.

I’m entering these into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (it must be love) and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge (love/hearts)

Love You

Happy Friyay everyone!

Ah… embossing folders. I love them. I can’t stop buying them. I just don’t use them enough! So one of my crafty goals this year is to use all of my embossing folders – even my old cuttlebug ones!

I used a relatively new addition to my embossing folder mountain – a heart embossing folder from Carabelle Studio. I created the background using ink from My Favorite Things and then swiped some Altenew grey ink over the raised image.

The sentiment and banner dies are from Simon Says Stamp. I embossed the ‘love’ die cut with clear embossing powder a couple of time – love that glossy effect!

I’m entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge (red, pink, grey), the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (love is in the air), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (it must be love) and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (love/hearts).
