Searching for my missing mojo

Happy Saturday everyone!

I have a question for you…. has anyone seen my mojo? It seems to have gone AWOL. I want to get crafty, but I can’t… so frustrating.

In an attempt to get back on track, I decided to CASE one of my favourite Easter cards this year – by the talented Koren Wiskman using stamps and dies from Your Next Stamp. What a cute set!

While I was on her site getting the link, I spotted that Your Next Stamp actually has a challenge and that spurred me on to do another card (this time to enter into the challenge), using the sketch and Koren’s card as inspiration!

For those of you interested in my first Koren-inspired card, here it is! I added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment die to my card so I’m going to enter this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is Easter/Spring.

Field of poppies

Good morning everyone!

This week, I have the honour of being the Guest Designer over at one of my favourite challenges – the Color Throwdown Challenge.

The palette for this challenge is black, white and peach, Such a fabulous combination, don’t you think?

I decided to use white as an accent colour and created a peach base using Dried Marigold distress ink. I love this soft colour and I’m looking forward to the distress oxide version later this year!

I cut black cardstock using dies from Memory Box and My Favorite Things and cut a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from white glitter card.

When I stuck everything down, I felt that the card needed a little something extra so I added a few white dots to finish it off.

There’s some amazing inspiration from the Color Throwdown DT over on the challenge blog – I do hope you can play along this week!

Hoppy Easter

Hi Everyone!

I was so inspired by the fabulous mood board over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this week – perfect for Easter cards!

I knew I wanted to use the sweet dies from an older SSS set that I got a few years ago and created a few backgrounds using regular distress ink as well as distress oxide ink. Once I cut out the bunnies, I used my Gelly Roll glaze pen to add their eyes and noses!

I assembled my card using the inspiration sketch from the current Case This Sketch challenge and then added a sentiment also from SSS to complete my card.

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (Springtime/Easter).

Thinking of Easter

Happy Friyay Everyone!

I’ve been making a lot of birthday cards recently – a lot birthdays in March! I decided to take a break and pull out my neglected Easter supplies. I don’t have that much that is specifically Easter, but I don’t feel I show enough love to what I do have!

I used the Simon Says Stamp Oval of Flowers die – well it’ll always be a flowery egg to me! I cut a background that I’d made from a couple of distress oxide ink and inlaid the pieces into the white base. I stamped a Simon Says Stamp greeting in regular distress ink (dried marigold) and then added a few gems to finish it off. Love that sparkle!

This is another entry for the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge – ‘Cut It Out’.

Koala hugs

Hi everyone!

I received a rather nice order from Simon Says Stamp yesterday – always fun when they land on my doormat! One of the dies I ordered was this gorgeous Picture Book Koala die! Now, I already have a lot of koala stamps and dies, but, I just couldn’t resist adding this one to my collection!

I created some blended backgrounds with Distress Oxide inks and used these to create the koalas. I cut an oval from a panel of white cardstock and then embossed it with a Couture Creations folder. I blended more Distress Oxide onto the base of my card before adhering the koalas. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp/Sugar Pea Stamptember collaboration.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is ‘Cut it Out’!!

Dreaming of Cherry Blossom Season – Part Two

Hello again!

Apologies for the two posts in one day, but I was so inspired by this week’s colour palette over at the Colour Throwdown challenge that I HAD to make another card. And I really wanted to use my ‘new’ cherry blossom embossing folder. Well new-ish! I actually got it when I was in Washington DC for Cherry Blossom season last March!

Anyway, for my card, I created a background using Tattered Rose distress oxide ink which I then embossed it with the sakura folder. I added  Memory Box die cuts and a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly to finish off the card.

I’m also entering this into the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
