Happy 1 Diecember!

Happy Saturday and Happy 1 Diecember everyone!

I’m very excited that my Simon Says Stamp Thanksgiving Day order arrived this morning and I immediately started playing with my new crafty items!

First up was the stunning Alicia Snowflake die. Isn’t it gorgeous. I have so many snowflake dies that I’ve tried to ban myself from buying them and use the ones I have instead. But I have seen this snowflake all over the place and eventually I caved!

I cut the snowflake from white glitter card. The word die is also from an older SSS die set (Happy Winter) and the embossed stamp is from a SSS sentiment set.

I’m entering this into the current SSS Flickr challenge (Christmas/Holiday) and the SSS Wednesday challenge (anything goes)

Day 25 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 25 was Hello Bluebird. This is quite a new company that has some really cute critter stamps! I have to be really strong whenever I see their product as I’d love to get a set, but I know I’d probably just look at it as I don’t tend to use many cutesy images.

There was so much inspiration from the designers. I particularly loved Francesca’s CAS pom-pom tags, but unfortunately didn’t have anything suitable in my supplies (HOW?? I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF!!), so chose Caly’s fabulous pink and purple tag as my inspiration.

I started off by embossing snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Lots of Snowflakes set and a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp/Avery Elle Stamptember 2016 collaboration. I then blended the same distress oxide inks that Caly used (Abandoned Coral and Wilted Violet) over the tag. I rubbed the whole tag with a cloth to remove any ink from the snowflakes and then added a few splatters of water.

Spiralling around

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards and this fortnight we want to see CAS cards that are mostly white. Our sponsor is Stamplorations.

I love white on white and don’t use it enough! As we like to keep layering to a minimum over at AAA cards, I started by dry embossing a frame in the centre of my base card to support the focal point – the beautiful Dixi Craft Christmas Spiral Tree die which I cut from white glitter card. I added a silver die cut star and a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Words on a Line set.

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by our wonderful sponsor, Shery, plus the super talented Sandie from London Days. She has some fabulous creations on her site!

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!

Day 20 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 20 was CAS-ual Fridays. I don’t have many of their stamps but when I saw that a lot of the DT had used a mistletoe set to create their tags, I immediately thought of my Avery Elle/Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2017 Merry Mistletoe collaboration set. I decided to use Vicki Dutcher’s fabulous glitter tags as my inspiration.

I stamped and coloured the mistletoe using my Twinkling H2O paints and then fussy cut around the sprig. I added four strips of glitter card and stamped a sentiment from the CAS-ual Fridays Christmas Sparkle set to finish off my tag.

Retro baubles

Hello everyone!

When I was in school, I used to buy those value packs of cards to give out to my classmates, but I never liked giving those ‘boring’ bauble cards.

Fast forward a few decades and I cannot stop buying bauble stamps and dies. There are just too many cute sets this year, don’t you think? This year, I may be sending out JUST bauble cards. All handmade of course… and not at all boring!

As soon as I saw the new Retro ornaments die set from Simply Graphic, I HAD to have them!

Today, I’m using them in my entry for the Color Throwdown challenge (red, aqua and silver) and the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I created my background panel with a new favourite find – Cosmic Shimmer Luna paste – it’s so sparkly and festive! The sentiment die is by Simon Says Stamp.

Day 15 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 15 was Stamplorations. The inspiration tags were amazing and I was particularly drawn to the yellow and red tag created by Shery Russ – it is totally different from my usual colour palettes, and not traditionally Christmas – I think that’s why I just had to use it as my inspiration!

I don’t have many of their products yet, so I used a Simon Says Stamp sentiment die, some Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamps and a Cuttlebug embossing folder for my take.

Thanks for stopping by!
