You are Pawesome!

Hi there!

I’m still playing catch up with the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge! This is my rather small amount of colouring for Day 14!

I used one of my Hero Arts wood mounted cat stamps – the Dots Cat. I remember stamping him several times in a circle for a birthday card for my dad back in the day. Things are much easier nowadays with the MISTI!

Anyway, I coloured him with my Twinkling H2Os and added a sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp. I actually think this was be the very first SSS die that I purchased!

Sending Smiles

Happy Saturday!

I’m still playing catch up with the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge so I’m popping in quickly with my colouring for Day 13!

I used one of my favourite Hero Arts wood mounted stamps – the Nice Little Flower Border from 2005. I remember using this stamp a LOT back in the day. It’s not as long as the width of my card, so I simply stamped it in the centre and then once either side. I never used to do that! I think I was nervous about lining up the image, but after using rubber stamps a lot again this year, I’m much more confident when I stamp with my wood stamps and Hero Arts stamp very well, so it was actually pretty easy to line up the image!.

I coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and added a sentiment from a newer Hero Arts clear set.

I’m entering this into the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Pocketful o’ posies

Happy Friyay friends!

Life just got a little busy so now I’m playing catch up with The Daily Marker 30 Day colouring challenge and my wood stamp challenge. This is my colouring for Day 12. I decided to play along with the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. I love how they have such unusual sketches! I immediately thought of my Hero Arts stamps when I saw this one. Back in the day (15 years ago apparently!), Hero Arts produced the ‘Pocket O’ Posies’ sets – a trio of flower stamps in a little box. I LOVED them and collected quite a few sets. I used the Country Garden Posies for this card.

To be honest, I’m not sure about this card now that I have completed it. I feel like I should tweak something, but not sure what. So instead I shall walk away and look at it again tomorrow!

The sentiment is also by Hero Arts and I used dies by My Favorite Things and Simon Says Stamp.

Happy Flowery Thoughts

Happy Saturday!

Day 8 of the 30 Day Colouring Challenge and my personal wood stamp challenge.

Here is my card/colouring for today using a fun flowery stamp from Hampton Arts that I got during a work trip to the US a few years ago. My hotel was across the road from a Michaels and I was able to find some time to peruse the store and buy a few bits and pieces. I coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and adhered it to a couple of pieces of coloured cardstock, following the sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

To finish off my card, I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp…. Am I the only one who struggles with strip sentiments sometimes? Trying to get it straight (using my MISTI) seemed to take as long as the colouring!

Framed Gerbera Daisies

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing a long with the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge, which is a colour challenge.

I decided to use two of my newest crafty products, the gorgeous Gerbera Daisy background die from Simon Says Stamp and the Nesting Wood frame die from Hero Arts.

First, I die cut the frame three times and adhered them together to create a 3D frame. Then I coloured the daisies using my Twinkling H2O paints – it’s so shimmery in real life! I cut a panel, stuck it to my card base and adhered the frame on top.

Rather than try to match up the leaves with some coloured cardstock, I painted a couple of layers of the Twinkling H2O paint onto white cardstock and then die cut it with a Mama Elephant die.

Happiest of butterflies

Hi everyone!

There’s a wonderful sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.. and here’s my take on it!

I used the beautiful Simon Says Stamp Circle of leaves which I positioned so that the leaves would come from the side of the circle, leaving a nice little area for the sentiment strip.

I created the background panel from distress inks and stamped the My Favorite Things sentiment using a distress oxide ink. The two butterflies are by Penny Black.

I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – Anything goes.
