Simon Says Stamp

Featuring Simon Says Stamp products

A gliding fly by!

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge using some products that arrived this week in my order from Simon Says Stamp.

The combo this week is orange, pale blue and cream – another set that’s perfect for autumnal cards and I loved the inspiration photo so much – I was VERY tempted to pull out my pumpkin dies! But my keenness to use some of my new purchases won instead!

I love the Simon Says Stamp Gliding Butterflies embossing folder and stamp set as soon as I saw it in this year’s Stamptember release! I rarely pay full price for embossing folders but this one is too special and I’m to impatient to wait for a sale. I coloured the butterflies with Altenew and distress inks and thought about using some foundry wax like Nichol Spohr did with her AMAZING inspiration canvas. But I decided against it in the end because I need more practice with that medium!

As I wanted to use a lot of butterflies, I chose a slimline cardbase and applied a few sprays of Unravelled distress mic spray. The shimmer is amazing!!

I stamped a sentiment from the Thinking of You set (30-825) that Penny Black kindly sent me before adhering the butterflies to my card base.

Snowcup

Happy Festive Friyay everyone!

I have to confess that I almost didn’t play along with the challenge at the 52 Christmas card challenge where the theme is ‘Christmas Cup’. I do have a few Christmas mug stamps but I wanted to do something different…. Then today I remembered a bargain cup set that I go from Simon Says Stamp YEARS ago. I’ve never used the cup, but I did use the spoon from the set to make this card last year. Anyway, today was the day that the cup die finally had a chance to shine!

I also used one of my newest stamp sets – the Snowmen layered stamp set by Kitchen Sink Stamps, which sadly you can’t get from a UK store as far as I know (come on Seven Hills/ Dies to Die for/ Bumbleberrys!!)

I used three Altenew inks for the snowman and added extra die cuts coloured with distress inks. Lastly, I used a stencil with Tumbled Glass and Frayed Burlap distress inks to ground my die cuts and a sentiment from the Shine Upon You mini set (30-928) which was kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

Butterfly smiles across the miles

Hello everyone!

I’ve created a card for two of my favourite challenges today – Freshly Made Sketches and the Color Throwdown challenge which has a combo of green, orange and blue.

Lots of different techniques and manufacturers for this one! A background panel embossed with a Simon Says Stamp folder, Craft Consortium paper cut with the Altenew Fine Frames Circles die and Memory Box’s Beloved Snowflakes die, an ink blended butterfly created with my favourite Memory Box butterfly (Vine Butterfly) and finally a Mama Elephant sentiment. It didn’t take too long to create as each of the techniques is pretty quick!

Merry Little Christmas wishes

Happy Friyay everyone!

Have you noticed that Fridays are becoming quite festive on my blog? I seem to be entering the Christmas Card Throwdown quite late each week! This week that was because I had no time for crafting until this evening AFTER I’d cleared up the craftermath from last Saturday! Anyway, I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at the 52 Christmas card challenge.

I lightly blended Weathered Wood and Speckled Egg distress inks across the lower part of a white panel which I then embossed using the Simon Says Stamp Refracted embossing folder. After adhering that to my card base, I added three little Charlie und Pauchen die cut trees.

The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Fir tree branches

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the technique challenge at the 52 Christmas card challenge.

So when I tidied my craftroom after Christmas in July, I unearthed a stack of festive embossing folders that I picked up from Simon Says Stamp in an after Christmas sale. I was rather annoyed with myself for forgetting them – mind you in my defence, they were well hidden in my craft room!

Anyway, when I saw the challenge theme of embossing folder, I knew I had to play along. I used he Fir Tree Branches folder with some Nuvo embellishment mousse. The sentiment is by Creative Expressions.

Happy 600th Sketch!

Hello again everyone!

Today I am truly honoured to be celebrating an amazing milestone with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge team and a group of super talented players! Today is challenge number 600!

I enjoy playing along with card challenges and Freshly Made Sketches is one challenge that I always try to play along with whenever I can. I love how different the sketches are and the DT and other players’ cards are always soooo inspiring!

I discovered the challenge in 2016 – I was just on instagram back then but I’m pretty sure that this was the card I made for my first challenge entry – challenge number 261! (I actually unearthed this after I made my card for this week – it made me smile to see that my entry back then also had a dry-embossed strip!)

For today’s fabulous sketch, I chose the Floral Cluster die by Poppystamps which I coloured with distress inks. After adhering it to a die cut circle, I embossed a grey strip with a Simon Says Stamp folder, added a sentiment by My Favorite Things and a few die cut butterflies by Poppystamps and Simon Says Stamp.
