Egg planter

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown which has a fabulous spring combo of yellow, sage green, grey and white.

I loved the inspiration photo because it totally reminds me of my new Honey Bee Stamps Bud Vases die set! As much as I wanted to fully recreate the photo with my new dies, I decided to use the fabulous planter die from the set and an Easter twist. The eggs and sweet chick are by Poppystamps.

The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Die cuts only – tulips

Hi again everyone!

Next up today is my entry for the Poppystamps challenge where the theme is ‘die cuts only’.

I knew I wanted to use my newest Poppystamps die set – the Layered Tulip die set so started by cutting some old inky panels with the dies while I thought about the rest of the card. I wondered if I could use an embossed background but given the theme I played it safe with the leafy frame from the Fern and Daisy Pop up Easel set. I added some foliage from a Memory Box flower set.

Then I spent a little while looking at all my sentiment dies – I was rather surprised that I don’t have many generic sentiments by Poppystamps, but fortunately this Hello worked well!

Snowflake Josefina Butterfly

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Poppystamps challenge where the theme is ‘let it snow’.  Can you believe I started working on this card at the beginning of January and only just got round to assembling it! This month has flown by!

I took a slightly different approach to my card and used the Snowflake Screen with the Josefina Butterfly dies to create a snowflake butterfly! I used an old inky panel for the snowflakes and cut the butterfly from vellum before adhering and then trimming the snowflake screen to size. The butterfly body is from Birch Press Design’s Butterfly Basics set.

I wanted to use this fabulous Memory Box embossing folder for my card base but felt that the butterfly needed a little something to ground it so added some silvery thread and a few sequins. The sentiment is by Memory Box.

Bright Chinese Lanterns

Happy Sunday!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge which has a fabulous palette of blue, orange, cream and kraft.

I’ve noticed that I have been using blue/aqua backgrounds a LOT recently so I was determined that my background would not be blue – instead I sponged some Antique Linen distress ink on my card base and lifted some ink using water droplets. Next, I cut my Poppystamps Chinese Lantern die from some kraft card and coloured the lanterns using distress oxide ink and Prismacolour pencils. I used the mason jar from the My Favorite Things Farmhouse Foundations die set to cut some blue patterned paper and adhered my die cuts to the card base. Finally I added a Hero Arts sentiment.

Fern and Daisy Card

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge where the palette this week is pink, coral, dark purple and green.

I had fun getting inky and creating a few distress oxide panels for this combo! I also used a colour burst shimmer powder for the purple accents.

All the images are from the beautiful Poppystamps Fern and Daisy die set and the sentiment is by Creative Expressions.
