Shimmery flowers

Hi everyone!

There’s a colour challenge over at the Less is More challenge blog this week – royal blue and lime green and here is my entry!

I masked off a section of card and stamped a beautiful Penny Black image which I then coloured with my Twinkling H2Os.

I added a few Nuvo drops plus a glittery Poppystamps die but still felt my card was missing ‘something’. So I added some shimmer to the background of the stamped panel using my Nuvo Aqua shimmer pen. Really loved how it turned out!

I’m also entering this into the current challenge at The Flower Challenge blog (tic-tac-toe – I chose  the bottom row – white – die cuts – blue).

Time to Sparkle

Happy Saturday!

There is a gorgeous colour combo over at the Color Throwdown challenge this week. In fact I have made quite a few cards with it! Anyway, this is the one that I decided to enter for the challenge. I used some new-to-me dies from Simply Graphic together with a stamp from Poppystamps.

As I was assembling the card, I felt it needed something a little extra to ground the image and so I stencilled a bit of Cosmic Shimmer glitter paste to the background. Love how this sparkles without detracting too much from those gorgeous dies!

I’m also entering this card into the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Tropical giraffes

Hi everyone!

After watching the Online Card Classes Rainbow Maker videos for today, I was itching to get ink smooshing, but I also wanted to do a card for this week’s Less is More challenge (tropical colours). So I tweaked my rainbow a bit (but that’s ok, right?) and came up with a smooshed background using Altenew’s inks. I used the gorgeous giraffe dies from Poppystamps and a couple of dies from Memory Box and Simon Says Stamp to complete my card, which I’m also entering into this week’s Casology challenge (safari).

Sparkling Chinese Lanterns

Hello!

I love Chinese Lanterns and so I just had to have this new gorgeous Poppystamps die as soon as I saw it!

I coloured the die cut using my Twinkling H20’s and then inlaid some coordinating glitter paper (which I found after I had coloured the image – still can’t believe I had such a good match).

I cut an oval from my base card and then stuck some acetate to create the window before adhering the die cut and a sentiment die cut, also by Poppystamps.

I’m entering this into two challenges: Poppystamps Monthly Challenge (Just Bling it) and Less is More Challenge (Anything but Stamps).

Rainbow Ball Wreath

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is ‘rainbow’ and Stamplorations is our sponsor.

For my card, I used the brand-new Ball Wreath from Poppystamps and inlaid pieces cut from card I had coloured with distress ink. That took quite a while, I must say! Anyway, I added a sentiment from a set by Simon Says Stamp/Darkroom Door Stamps and resisted the urge to add any bling!

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by Guest Designer Chrissie from Simply One of a Kind. She has some amazing creations on her blog, so please drop by her site!

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!

I Heart Summer!

Hi Everyone!

The theme for this month’s Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday is ‘Summer’ and so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to use my Sunny Studios layered popsicles. I find their layering stamps super easy to line up – and the popsicles are no exception!

Once I stamped the images several times using Altenew inks, I felt I needed ‘something’ to anchor the collection. I did a little controlled ink smooshing and then added a border die from Poppystamps – I think it almost looks like some sort of quirky popsicle holder! I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp to complete the card

Thanks for looking!
