Primary Poinsettia

Hello again everyone!

Next up today is my entry for two challenges –  this week’s Color Throwdown challenge, which has a combo of primary colours this week, and the sketch from the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge.

To ground my images a little, I started by the pretty Poppystamps Swirly Curl Border outline on my card base. Then I made three blended distress ink panels using ‘dirtier’ shades of the challenge colours (Stormy Sky, Fossilised Amber and Fired Brick) and then cut them with the poinsettia dies from the Spellbinders Christmas Blooms set. I also cut foliage from white glitter card and then adhered them all to my card. I added a few gems for poinsettia centres and a Simon Says Stamp sentiment to complete my card.

Day 10 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 10’s inspiration is Day 21, 2016.

This was pretty challenging for me but I remembered my Poppystamps Cat Friends stamp set and decided to take Channin’s inspiration and the kitties in stocking image for my tag. I adhered some patterned paper to the main section of the stocking – haven’t done paper piecing for a while and this was fun!

Autumnal Monterey Vine

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Following the sketch, I blended a strip using Salvaged Patina distress ink, making sure I blended more heavily at the bottom of my card so that there would be a subtle ombre effect. I embossed a panel using the Spellbinders Falling Leaves embossing folder and then coloured the beautiful Poppystamps Monterey Vine die using regular distress inks and adhered it to my card. Finally I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment to complete my take.

So here’s the card I created to thank just a few of the many companies who continue to inspire me.

I used dies by:

Memory Box (Jasper Leaves)

Poppystamps (Whittle Oak Leaf)

Simon Says Stamp (Eucalyptus Leaves)

Stampin Up! (Boho Indigo die set)

Simply Graphic (Feuilles geometriques)

Creative Expressions (Elegant Arrangements)

Penny Black (Leaflets)

Hero Arts (sentiment)

I used the theme from the Global Design Project which is ‘leaves’.

Autumn Tree Triptych

Happy Friyay!

Today I’m playing along with the current sketch challenge over at The Paper Players .

I used four of my older die sets to create my take on the sketch – Leaf Canopy and Perfect Pumpkins by Memory Box and the Tree Triptych and Gourds and Pumpkins set from Poppystamps. The oldest is from 2011 and the most recent is 2016! I love how timeless these designs are! The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

Deco Thank you

Hello friends!

Today I’m playing along with the current colour challenge over at The Paper Players. I’ve been wanting to play with the fabulous Poppystamps Gilded Plate die since I got it a few weeks ago and I thought that the colour combo would work very nicely. I chose gold as my fourth colour. The sentiment is also by Poppystamps (Jumbled Thank You).
