Penny Black

Featuring Penny Black products

You have my heart

Hello again everyone!

Next up today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge using Penny Black products.

First I stamped a jug from the Garden Fresh stamp set (30-816) on some gold cardstock and set it aside to dry for a while before cutting it out with the coordinating die (51-703). Next, I die cut a panel using a die from the Graceful Stackers set (51-658) and splattered some gold paint across it, after masking a small section that I planned to use for my sentiment. I then cut images using the Ardor die (51-097) and one from the Garden Greens set (51-67652). I coloured Ardor with some distress ink, and masked each heart to create that inked point in the branch.

Finally, I added a sentiment from the Warm My Heart stamp set (30-895) and arranged all my die cuts on the card.

Mailing Bunches of love

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches using a brand new Penny Black stamp set called Bunches of Love (30-890) and its coordinating die set (51-726).

To start with, I created an ink blended panel and lifted some ink using water. I coloured the beautiful envelope image with my Twinkling H2O paints and then cut round it with the coodinating die. I adhered the image over the panel and then added the sentiment from the stamp set and a few small sequins to complete my card.

Maison Jars collection

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge and the Freshly Made Sketches challenge using Penny Black products.

First I smooshed some yellow ink onto my card base and then cut images using the Frosted Greens set (51-710), Daisy Delight (51-676) and the Autumn Decor set (51-653). I coloured them with distress inks and added detail with coloured pencil. As I was arranging the images, I felt that the background needed a little something extra so I added a couple of round frames from the Framed die set (51-622).

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from the Ever Thanks stamp set (30-813)

My yoga journey

Hello everyone!

Today I’m paying tribute to my 2021 yoga journey with a card using products from Penny Black!

But first, a little background story. About a year ago, a post popped up on my instagram feed about Adriene’s 30 day yoga programme. I was intrigued… I had tried yoga before but it hadn’t stuck – I had always become bored and demotivated and stopped… but something about this programme made me want to try it. So I did…. and somewhere along the way something just clicked.  By Day 20, I had started to feel disappointed that the programme was coming to an end…. And then I discovered that each month the Yoga with Adriene team issues a new calendar of mostly older sessions – I was delighted – I knew that I needed the variety that a curated calendar would provide.

I started last January with zero expectations. Certainly no intention to practice daily beyond January! Yet that is exactly what has happened! Today, I completed my 361st consecutive day of practice (1 January was an intro session)! And I feel so much better for it! Some days I have practiced for an hour. Other days, 10-15 minutes…. But I have got on that mat every single day! I still have a long way to go – I know that the impact of decades of my western lifestyle can’t be erased over a year or two or three. But that’s ok. I love my daily sessions and I know have made progress this year. I’m in it for the long haul.

So onto the card! To start with, I created an ink-blended background section using distress inks and then stamped, coloured and fussy cut the main image from the Breathe mini set (30-473). Next, I cut some flourishes and butterflies from vellum using dies from the Flourish and Butterflies die set, 51-198) and adhered everything to my card base. Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Breathe set.

Jeu de l’Avent 2021 – 03

Hello everyone!

Today I’m finally playing along with Simply Graphic’s advent challenge!

I discovered Simply Graphic a few years ago and fell for their dies – they are so delicate and unique! I’ve been watching the daily challenges on Instagram and hoped I would have time to play along – and today was that day! I’m not sure that I will be able to do many of the 24 challenges, but hopefully I will complete at least 12… we’ll see!

To start with, I chose the sketch from Day 3. This card uses an older polar bear die and a fun tree die from Simply Graphic. I added a Penny Black sentiment because I don’t have any Simply Graphic stamps.

Dancing Snowflake Tile

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of the Poppystamps Dancing Snowflake Tile die again – I last used it back during Christmas in July for another Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and I knew it would be perfect for this week’s challenge too!

This time I cut it from glitter card and added it to some paper from my patterned paper mountain. The sentiment is by Penny Black.
