You have my heart

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge using products by Penny Black.

I used a few distress inks to create a blended rainbow panel which I cut three times with the Heart String die (51-022). The sentiment is from the Warm My Heart mini set (30-895)*.

All you need is… smiles and hugs

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with some old and newer products from Penny Black. I started by heat embossing the All you need…. cling stamp (40-092) and blending Speckled Egg and Stormy Sky distress ink over it. I then cut the heart frame using a die from the Lovely Border die set (51-484). I added a butterfly from the Flourish and Butterflies set (51-198) and little birds from the Nestlings set (51-755)*. The sentiment is from the Banner sentiments (30-423)*.

Tree-heart love

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with one of my favourite colour challenges – the Color Throwdown using some of my favourite Penny Black products.

This week, the colour combo is red, green and brown and I was SORELY tempted to make a Christmas card! In the end though, I decided to use one of my favourite Penny Black cling stamps – Tree-Heart (40-505). You can see a couple of my older creations here and here! Isn’t it funny that I also made them for Color Throwdown challenges?!

Today, I embossed the main image and coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints and added some splatters. I cut a couple of strips brown card using a die from the Lovely Border frames set (51-484) and adhered them to my square card base. Finally I added a sentiment from the Special Sentiments set (30-574 ).

Saltwater Berries

Hello there everyone!

Life got pretty busy towards the end of this year and I totally missed all the last posting deadlines. I saw all the mountains of mail outside the Royal Mail sorting office and decided that there was no way that any of my cards would make it through before mid January! And who wants to receive a Christmas card then? So instead I will be sending winter cards out in January! And so begins an epic winter cardmaking project!!

I’m also going to use this project to get to grips with my new lighting tent. I realised that I was spending far to long photographing my cards so I have invested in a small lighting tent and used it for the first time today. It seemed easier than my old set up and I’m looking forward to practicing with it over the next few months!

Anyway, for today’s CAS winter card, I used products kindly sent to me by Penny Black. I pulled out the beautiful Berry Bouquet brushstroke cling stamp (40-860) and some Arteza markers and distress inks. I was originally going to colour the berries different shades of red, but I liked my base colour (Saltwater Taffy) and abandoned the other colours! I did add some Stickles to random berries though!

I grounded the image by lightly sponging some Antique Linen behind the image and added a few aqua paint splatters. Finally I stamped a sentiment from the When Snow Falls set (30-881).

Day 6 – 6 Days of Christmas Tags 2022

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post. Unfortunately I only had time to make six tags this year.

Day 6’s inspiration is Day 23, 2016.

For my take on the wreath tag, I used some die sets kindly sent to me by Penny Black – the Jumbo Bauble set (51-743), part of the big holly stem in the Holly-Days set (51-741), and sprigs from Stocking Stuffers (51-747) and Joy of Giving (51-748). The sentiment is from the Merry Edger set (51-745).

Day 2 – 6 Days of Christmas Tags 2022

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post. Unfortunately, I only had time to make 6 tags this year.

Day 2’s inspiration is Day 20, 2017. Here’s what I made five years ago.

I used dies from Penny Black’s Stocking Stuffers set (51-747). The stocking is cut from some old paper from my patterned paper mountain and I used stiffened felt for the trim. The tag base is from the Tagged set (51-007).
