Floral Twirl and Greenery

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown which has a clean springtime combo of dark green, yellow, mint and white.

I used products kindly sent to me by Penny Black for this card. I have been trying to use the beautiful Floral Twirl die (51-768) again and today was the day, along with the beautiful Airy die (51-423) and a stem from the Garden Greens set (51-652). All the dies were coloured with distress oxide inks and I added detail with coloured pencil plus some stickles!

The sentiment is from the ever so versatile Snippets set (30-283).

Blue daisies

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I have to admit, I spent a long time thinking about how I could use the sketch this week. I toyed with using patterned paper or embossed pieces of card but in the end, I chose to replicate the skecth with a simple ink blended background and added some products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

I coloured the three daisies from the Delicate Daisies die set (51-763) with distress inks and arranged them on my background. Even thought I’m a CAS cardmaker, I felt that the card still needed something else, so I added some leafy fronds from the An Impression die set (51-735).

Finally I stamped a sentiment from the Charisma stamp set (30-969) and added a few gems to complete my card.

Great Day Bouquet

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge using some products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

When I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use one of my favourite background dies – the Geometric Circles die (51-644) with a jar of flowers from the new Charisma stamp set (30-969)*. I started by colouring the stamped image with my Twinking H2O paints and used the colours as inspiration for a distress ink background. I trimmed down the panel, adhered the background die cut and added some Stickles.

While that was drying, I set up my card base and used the Textural die (51-729)* for the background strip in the sketch. After assembling all the die cut elements, I added a little flower from the Swinging die set (51-618) to the jar and a sentiment from the Snippets stamp set (30-283).

Winged Wreath

Hello again  everyone!

My last card for today is another one I made for my lovely mum using Penny Black products.

When I saw the latest release, the Winged Wreath cling stamp (40-886) took my breath away. Isn’t it a beautiful stamp – so delicate and eye-catching!

I coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints, and added LOTS of glitter and a few die cut butterflies from the Flourish and Butterflies set (51-198) and the Soaring set* (51-731).

The sentiment is  from the Without Limits mini stamp set* (30-949).

Enchantment

Happy Saturday  everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown using products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

When I saw the combo, I decided to step outside my comfort zone, pull out my watercolour paints and ink up the beautiful new cling stamp called Enchantment (40-885). I have to confess, I get a little nervous water colouring such a large stamp but I really enjoyed the process – the stamp was much easier to colour than I was expecting! While it was drying, I smooshed some brown distress ink onto a cream card base. I then fussy cut the image (which was also pretty easy) and adhered it to my card base with a few sticky fixers.

The sentiment is  from the Without Limits mini stamp set (30-949).

Cherished 2023

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing some cards I made with products kindly sent to me by Penny Black, showcasing the wonderful floral dies from their Cherished 2023 release.

First up is this Thinking of you card, made with a dear friend in mind. I coloured the three daisies from the Delicate Daisies die set (51-763) with distress inks and then tucked them in the centre of that fabulously bold YOU die (51-760)! The stamped ‘thinking of’ is from part of a stamp from the Thinking of You stamp set (30-825).

I then turned my attention to the Finesse die (51-769). Again I coloured it with distress inks and added a bit of glitter. While I was waiting for that to dry, I turned my attention to my card base. I adhered the largest die cut from the Framed set (51-622) and then masked it off before stamping the Letter Background (40-780) in the centre. I then adhered the die cut on top and added a sentiment from the Without Limits mini stamp set (30-949).

Next up is the Floral Twirl die (51-768) – isn’t that a pretty name! And it is certainly a pretty die! Again coloured with distress inks – and I added some leaves from the An Impression die set (51-735). The sentiment from the Delightful Day stamp set (30-955).

Finally, I wanted to share the card I made on Saturday using the Burst of Blooms die (51-764) – click here to read about that one.
